Hard Rock

edit

I think this song is hard rock. It is loud and fast... does anyone agree? Sittingonfence 21:33, 19 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

This is Wikipedia. What you think doesn't matter, what the sources say does. -- Scorpion0422 21:41, 19 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

And besides, "Life in the Fast Lane" is not as fast-paced as "Get Over It". --Tony Feld (talk) 16:43, 9 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Allmusic even states the fact that it has a hard rock sound so I don’t think it’s hard rock, I know it is listen to the song Chairman7890 (talk) 13:33, 6 May 2018 (UTC) (Chairman7890 has been blocked as a sock of DinoP5568135. - SummerPhDv2.0 19:28, 6 May 2018 (UTC))Reply

Allmusic reports the genre as "Pop/Rock", not hard rock.[1] WWGB (talk) 13:41, 6 May 2018 (UTC)Reply
Look at the song styles Chairman7890 (talk) 13:57, 6 May 2018 (UTC) (Chairman7890 has been blocked as a sock of DinoP5568135. - SummerPhDv2.0 19:28, 6 May 2018 (UTC))Reply
The Wikipedia infobox does not report "song styles". It reports genres. WWGB (talk) 14:10, 6 May 2018 (UTC)Reply
If you want to go about that, then every rock song made known to man would just be rock because song genres for all rock songs on allmusic.com are labeled rock/pop you don’t get into the sub genres until you go to song styles so let my edit stay as hard rock Chairman7890 (talk) 14:16, 6 May 2018 (UTC) (Chairman7890 has been blocked as a sock of DinoP5568135. - SummerPhDv2.0 19:28, 6 May 2018 (UTC))Reply
There is, of course, a long history of sockpuppetry in this article making exactly the change you are requesting. You will need to either establish a consensus here or provide independent reliable sources. - SummerPhDv2.0 18:06, 6 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

Please change:

The song was used as the soundtrack for the roller coaster Eagles-Life in the Fast Lane, opened at Hard Rock Park in May 2008. It was SBNO (Standing but not Operating), but reopened on May 23, 2009, as The Iron Horse.

The song was used as the soundtrack for the roller coaster Eagles-Life in the Fast Lane, which opened at Hard Rock Park in 2008.

Amusement ride names should not be italicised, the Iron Horse details are extraneous, and use of SBNO is deprecated. Thanks. 2001:E68:542E:805D:408E:F217:6E8A:7DE0 (talk) 00:35, 27 October 2017 (UTC)Reply

I took your suggestion to heart, but styled the name of the ride according to the way a new source styled it: The Eagles' Life in the Fast Lane. The older source doesn't seem to work, even through the archive link, so I thought I should find a new one. — jmcgnh(talk) (contribs) 03:40, 27 October 2017 (UTC)Reply
