I'd like to see some evidence that homosexual people lived in the Marais during or before World War II (we certainly weren't called "gays" then) or that French homosexuals were deported by the Nazis. Further to that, it is not true that the Nazis "immediately" began deporting Jews from the Marais, or from Paris generally. Deportations did not begin until 1941, and these only involved Jews who were not French citizens. French Jews were not deported until 1944.

Finally, it was not "the Nazis" who did the rounding up and deporting from Paris. It was the French police. The Germans did not take custody of the deportees until they arrived at the transit camps at Drancy and elsewhere. The holocaust museum (Shoah Memorial) just off Rue Vielle du Temple (4th arr.) toward the Seine commemorates the 70,000 or so Jews that were removed from Paris and environs by the occupation and Vichy government. Le Marais → The Marais – Absolutely nobody calls it "Le Marais" in English, neither in speech, nor in writing; it is almost universally "The Marais" by an overwhelming factor. This isn't even close. (Additional ngram one, additional ngram two, additional ngram three.)

I consider this an uncontroversial page move, but I'll leave it here for a while to see if anyone wants to comment.

Re; Written like an ad/travel guide

Significant portions of the article and a large majority of the language used appear specifically to either promote The Marais in some way or simply to advertise it, neither of which are, to my knowledge, the purpose of Wikipedia as an encyclopaedic source. Some adjectives such as "outstanding", the liberal interpretation of citations or even just their omission entirely (including, amusingly, a citation needed next to "according to sources"), and having nearly two-thirds as many photos on an article about a portion of Paris than the entire article of Paris means that either incredible rewriting or just a total purge and starting from scratch are necessary.
