Autobiographies edit

2 bio's and only aged 26? is this correct? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Magnoliapaint (talkcontribs)

Her autobiography is not released yet. Amazon still has it as scheduled for Oct 5, 2006, so we don't know what is in there yet. The other one is not an autobiography. But it is correct, there are two KittenKlub 23:02, 9 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Bisexuality? edit

THough she is married Kerry is a bisexual. She shown sexual beahiavour with fellow Glamour model Katie Price (aka Jordan) and has even admitted to sleeping with her.

I don't believe that being married precludes one from being bisexual. Also is there a source for the jordan thing? —Preceding unsigned comment added by LouiseCooke (talkcontribs)

This story cannot be added to story without a reliable source, because it is gossip. Please read WP:V. Tabloids are not considered a reliable source.

Weight edit

Do you think we should add anything about her weightgains? KittenKlub 20:49, 25 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

  • I'm not sure if it's worth adding to be honest, she's spent a lot of time pregnant and that's probably a lot to do with the weight thing. Plus, it's not really gone up and down, she went from slim to chunky and kinda stayed there, that was all it was. Sky83 (talk) 15:41, 26 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Nude photography edit

Dispute with KittenKlub who insists that Kerry Katona's explicit nude modelling be described as 'topless', for whatever reason. User has approached mediation in order to settle matters. For the record, Kerry posed nude (explicit shots showing her genitalia in some detail) prior to Atomic Kitten and the shots were republished in a number of UK 'top shelf' magazines after she found fame. Said images are also readily available on the internet with the Google search: 'Kerry Katona nude'.

Can't understnad why pornography should be described as topless but there you go. I guess Traci Lords did some topless modelling by that token. The username is perhaps indicative of why the truth is being obscured. Magpie1892

  • The source used for that, and two other claims in the paragraph does not look WP:RS to me. It does not cite it's sources, so there is no way to verify the information on the website, therefore it is probably not appropriate for sourcing any negative claim in this article. Crockspot 20:54, 28 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
Thanks. All claims on with that source will be removed. 20:58, 28 November 2006 (UTC)

KittenKlub

Agreed. Will cite my sources ASAP and reinstate if possible. Thanks. Magpie1892

I have written a neutral sentence with a citation about the one sourcable photograph that was published. Whether or not the paper is a rag is irrelevant, the photo was published. But I did qualify the paper as a tabloid. The idea behind a citation is verifiability. Can someone reading the cite go to a library, look up that date of the paper in the archives, and find the photo? If yes, then it is a proper citation, and reliable enough to source the statement in the article. Crockspot 21:23, 29 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

  • It may be more appropriate to move that sentence a little further down in the biography section.. I'll let you guys figure that out. Crockspot 21:26, 29 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
    • Nevermind, I moved it to the end of the section, and also move one of the images down to the end of the section to get rid of that open white space mid section. I also changed the header of THIS section to better reflect consensus about the photographs. Crockspot 21:52, 29 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Takes us to shots from an unknown magazine of Ms Katona in fairly explicit nude poses, one with her labia being held apart.

Should the section about 'nude photographs appeared...' in the Atomic Kitten section be looked at again? They don't really adress the issue, ahem, 'explicitly'? Magpie1892 14.04, 25 June 2009

'Can someone reading the cite go to a library, look up that date of the paper in the archives, and find the photo? If yes, then it is a proper citation, and reliable enough to source the statement in the article' As above. This was discussed, arbitrated and resolved three years ago. The Sunday Sport may well be a rag but this citation is valid nonetheless. The main image to which this citation refers was, in the paper itself a nude shot with Ms Katona's hand down at her pudenda, which was obscured by a 'censored' sticker. I have removed the description 'open leg' for reasons of taste but these were not topless shots, even the SS showed that they were nude. Any concerns? Please list them here instead of, at this juncture, sullying a decent article with agenda-led deletionism. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.192.1.168 (talk) 20:13, 20 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Yet again, the nature of the 'glamour' photos taken of Ms Katona in her youth has been changed to 'topless'. These were not topless shots, these were nude shots and this was established and cited some years ago. Indeed, in some of the shots, Ms Katona is holding her labia open and facing the camera. Could someone please remove the innacuracy and return the section to the true state of affairs? --80.192.21.253 (talk) 20:14, 25 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Comment: the images from the cited source (showing date, publication, etc.) secondarily availble in multiple locations on internet. Said images showing full nudity (albeit censored in the Sunday Sport, but not elswhere) which have been reprinted in many other pornographic publications. Sunday Sport is, however, registered as a newspaper at the Post Office and so remains a valid cite. Thus, so does the descripton of the photographs in the text as 'nude' (bit tame, really!) remain valid. --212.137.70.194 (talk) 13:23, 11 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

As above, the cited source shows nude photos. End of story. --Omniconsumerproducts (talk) 20:58, 12 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

I see this has been discussed at length and there appears to have been both an admin agreeing that the photos were nude and a consenus. --94.116.0.0 (talk) 14:21, 13 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

Daughter number 3 edit

Is it true she's had the baby already? Where is the source for this info? I'm not entirely sure it's true because wasn't she going to call her daughter Maggie May?

No, this is not vandalism, see [1]. But given the frequency with which the Kerry Katona article is vandalised, you cannot be blamed for questioning it. Viewfinder 04:31, 23 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
I wouldn't be surprised, she seems to have a new baby every other week. MultipleTom (talk) 00:12, 1 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Kerry and sex video edit

there is a sex video of kerry masturbating, why havent u added this on there —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.21.61.41 (talkcontribs)

Attempts that were made to post a link to this a few months ago were quickly reverted. Apart the question of verifiable evidence that it is actually her, I don't think most of our editors, myself included, support the posting of these sort of links. Let's keep it that way. Viewfinder 19:28, 27 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Firstly what you have said is in contradiction of wikipedia's no censorship policy; your sensibilities should not restrict the information made available to others (not that I find it particularly tasteful to post it either, but policy is policy). And secondly I think the OP was referring to the complete and total lack of mention of the video in the entire article rather than the lack of the actual video. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.8.100.245 (talk) 00:25, 31 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

See [2], which illustrates the dangers of posting unreliably sourced claims about or links to "sex videos". Viewfinder (talk) 00:49, 31 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
Thats absurd, that's just their opinion, that doesn't categorically mean anything, I'm sure there are plenty of sources that will conflict with that, including the site that is hosting the video, the article doesn't have to state that the video 'is' her, but should at least report the phenomenon of the video that is allegedly her. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.8.100.245 (talk) 01:10, 31 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
We are not in the business of supplying a platform for a fake video. Find a reliable source that disputes the claim that it is a fake. Viewfinder (talk) 01:46, 31 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Bipolar and drugs edit

Ooook 08:40, 8 August 2007 (UTC) the reference to bi-polar condition being caused by and excacerpated by the use of drugs is a little tendentious and even a wee bit slanderous- maybe it should be removed? Ooook Ooook 08:40, 8 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

No it's not, [3][4]

[5] although I suppose it's original research to link this to kerry's situation if no sources have done so. Her team are saying it's due to the stress of the break-in, and it's true that bipolar can be exacerbated by stress.Merkinsmum 00:51, 14 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

someone has written that kerry died of a drug overdose on the 26th march. This is disgusting. whatever your personal feelings are please remember she is a mother! this is a fact based website and whoever wrote that is dispicable. i'm not a kerry fan but really is there any need. i would remove it but i dnt know how. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.208.115.115 (talk) 00:50, 27 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Now Croft? edit

Isn't she Kerry Croft these days? I know it's hard to keep up but... Davidbod (talk) 14:17, 18 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

She is still best known in the media and to most people as Katona. Viewfinder (talk) 14:53, 18 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Not singing on AK songs edit

I don't think this is true. I had a look at the reference source and it doesn't appear to be wholly reliable. I won't delete this point myself at the present time, but I would like to know what other people think? Perhaps if someone can find a credible source for this, it could be referenced again? Sky83 (talk) 15:38, 26 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Katona herself has admitted to not singing on the AK records (though she speaks on one of them I believe). There's a source in the article. 89.168.74.188 (talk) 05:13, 23 July 2009 (UTC)Reply
I saw her on TV saying she wasn't signed on to Atomic Kitten for her singing, because she can't sing. What other attributes led them to sign her up remains a mystery to me. Just think, we could have been spared all this... MultipleTom (talk) 00:17, 1 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Years active edit

Wouldn't the shows she's been doing be considered as her being active in entertainment?! I don't think 1999-2001 or whatever it is would be correct!86.45.217.134 (talk) 16:21, 22 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Upbringing edit

The early life subsection contradicts itself. It states she was brought up by her mother, but then states that when she was very young she was placed in care and raised by four sets of foster parents. Both cannot be entirely true. Which is correct? What age was she when she was taken away from her seriously mentally ill mother and put in care? Was she in care continually from when she was a small child until she reached 16 or 18? Werdnawerdna (talk) 12:31, 23 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Fern Britton's details edit

Hello,

I just noticed that Fern Britton's first name is spelt incorrectly at the end of the article. Instead of Fearne, it should be Fern.

Vandalism edit

Please can we not resume the vandalism of this article when the semi-protection expires. If we want to add negative material about Katona then it must be properly sourced. And that should not be beyond us - it's in the News of the World almost every Sunday. Viewfinder (talk) 12:01, 26 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned references in Kerry Katona edit

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Kerry Katona's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Reference named "acharts":

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT 12:52, 15 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

This Morning slurred appearance - wrong drug? edit

The article said she was under the influence of Chlorpromazine (as said by BBC). HOWEVER the Daily Mail says she was under the influence of Propiomazine: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-1079666/Kerry-Katona-emerges-face-cameras-Philip-Schofield-admits-irresponsible-allow-condition.html I have removed reference to Chlorpromazine, and replaced it with just 'prescription drugs', but we need to get to the bottom of this.

I watched the Kerry Katona doc on MTV One last night, but it didn't mention drug in question. A quick Google turned up nothing...

Please don't revert until we can find a definitive answer one way or the other. Dvmedis (talk) 03:57, 24 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Errors edit

I understand locking this topic if she is such a controversial celebrity but there are some really obvious typographical errors that should be corrected at the beginning of this article. These do not concern the content. Maybe some editor can unlock the article for long enough to make some format & grammatical changes. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.193.247.210 (talk) 12:54, 13 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

``author of ghostwritten books'' is vague edit

Alcoholism? edit

This article was in the category Category:People self-identifying as alcoholics until I removed it. As far as I know, Katona has never publicly identified herself as such (although the media may well have described her that way). Does anyone have a source to demonstrate otherwise? If not, it should not be restored. Robofish (talk) 15:17, 27 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! edit

On this page it says Kerry was runner up in I'm a celebrity, get me out of here 2011. This information is wrong as Kerry was the winner of I'm a celebrity, get me out of here in 2004! [1] [2] Lozeliz (talk) 02:26, 14 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

Paternal origins? edit

The Wiki article mention her maternal grandfather was Hungarian. How about her paternal origins? Katona is definitely a Hungarian family name and if her last name comes from her father then she must have Hungarian origin from the paternal side as well. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 193.172.19.15 (talk) 12:44, 28 August 2019 (UTC)Reply
