This article is under development and is brand new. I would appreciate seeing a copy of the article that was deleted since it might be useful to this article's expansion. Kathleen Christison is the author of at least two books (one of which was reprinted and updated in 2001), she is a regular speaker at political events, and she writes regularly in Counterpunch and the Journal of Palestine Studies. There is much more information available on her work than that currently cited in the article. I find it very strange that her entry was deleted in October 2006. Reviewing the comments there, I see that editors were not aware of her having authored more than one book or of her regular contributions to political journals. She is cited in Wikipedia articles as a reliable source for articles dealing with the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. She does not fail WP:N in any way. Tiamat 15:11, 26 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Further, her name in quotes as searched on google gets 99,400 hits. Her name in quotes in google scholar gets 115 hits and in google book 93 hits. Tiamat 15:15, 26 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Per WP:N guidelines for academics, her book Perceptions of Palestine is used as a text book at St. Anthony's College at the University of Oxford [1], and Wesleyan University [2] among others. If the administrator reviewing this hang on request can provide me with a copy of a the article that was deleted, that would be great. Thanks. Tiamat 15:30, 26 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

With respect to Tiamut, the CSD criteria in question applies to: "A copy, by any title, of a page that was deleted via a deletion discussion or deletion review, provided that the copy is substantially identical to the deleted version and that any revisions made clearly do not address the reasons for which the page was deleted." I do not remember what the original version of this article looked like, but an AfD concluded almost unanimously (eight deletes, one neutral) that the subject was not notable enough for an article. The AfD discussion mentioned one of her books and her articles. Tiamut claims that editors who participated in the AfD were not aware of her second book or her regular contribution to periodicals - yet the second book was published in 2002, four years before the AfD, which suggests to me that if editors weren't aware of it, it was probably because it wasn't significant enough to come up in their searches. Nothing in the article suggests that she has become more notable since October. Nevertheless, if Tiamut feels that the AfD reached the wrong conclusion, I think, and correct me if I'm wrong, that the appropriate process is to go to Deletion Review before creating a new article. I didn't know that a previous article on her had been deleted. Seeing a copy of the original would be helpful, as I stated above. I am only following this course of action because you, GabrielF, placed a notice on my page stating that I was to append a hang on template here and outline my rationale for keeping the article. Am I not supposed to be doing this? Tiamat 15:35, 26 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
No, I'm sorry - there's some ambiguity in the process here but I think that what you did was okay process-wise. GabrielF 15:42, 26 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
