Secret Of the Sirens
editJust thought id check, but im pretty sure i read secret of the sirens long before the diamond of drury lane came out. I think secret of the sirens was her first but diamond of drury lane has been her most successful. (Neostinker 10:11, 8 February 2007 (UTC))
- Golding states here: "My first novel, 'The Diamond of Drury Lane'..." Rotideypoc41352 (talk) 01:04, 8 February 2011 (UTC)
Pseudonyms
editAccording to Golding's replies to two comments here, she has also written under different names (The Other Countess by Eve Edwards and Finding Sky by Joss Stirling). Should it be included in the article? Rotideypoc41352 (talk) 00:57, 8 February 2011 (UTC)
- Done by Pburka. Thank you, Pburka! Rotideypoc41352 (talk) 05:57, 8 November 2011 (UTC)
Audience
editPreviously we called her in the lead sentence and cat her in the footer Categories simply a "British novelist", without any clear indication--only some book or series titles, maybe--that she writes for children. She is clear that Joss Stirling and Eve Edwards write for teens, or young adults (YA); we now say that amply and partly in the lead paragraph.
Evidently the main point of teens/YA (her terms) is in contrast to younger children because Golding is known primarily as a children's writer. I don't know whether she has written anything primarily for adults so I rewrote the lead sentence conservatively: "Julia Golding (born March 1969) is a British writer of fiction, primarily historical fiction and fantasy for children and young adults (YA)."
Looking for our {{dead link}} source at Internet Archive, I found this later exchange with a fan, which is exceptionally explicit. "Cecilia wrote on 20 June 2012: ...I LOVE Cat Royal and The Companions Quartet. Are any of your other books written on a high reading level???? [emphasis mine; Golding replied] ...I also write for teenagers as Joss Stirling and Eve Edwards...". [1]
