notability

Nothing in the article as it now stands demonstrates the subject's notability. Apparently a survivalism page made several references to him, I dont think that alone makes him notable.

This is a new page, that I started as a stub to support the numerous references to Joel Skousen in the Retreats (survivalism) page.

Since there are now wiki pages for Cleon Skousen, Joel Skousen, and Mark Skousen, I suppose that a disambiguation page is called for.

Lots of self-reference

The references section is comprised almost entirely of links to the subject's own website. Is this normally acceptable under Wikipedia's reference policy? I'm still learning the ropes. Xmkrx (talk) 19:30, 6 October 2009 (UTC)

Generally, third-party sources are used as references only. If undisputed facts, such as president of a corporation, second party or first party sources are used. Geraldshields11 (talk) 21:42, 13 June 2014 (UTC)

Point of view

This is not written from an objective point of view. It's a great advertisement for him, but it's not hitting him objectively. The fact that he endorsed Ron Paul is not really pertinent, because he is not a high-profile public character.

In addition, is this guy even deserving of his own wiki page? I see nothing that makes him notable other than being related to Cleon Skousen.

what is the basis for claiming that he is a "political scientist" by training? the article should cite credentials, e.g., a Ph.D., or publications in peer reviewed political science journals. otherwise, this just repeats what he claims on his website. chris — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.34.61.196 (talk) 09:25, 2 December 2015 (UTC)
