The fact this person had not followed any (specific) religion, doesn't exactaly make it an atheist.

Jacques Lucien Monod's Mother's correct name

Jacques Lucien Monod's Mother's maiden name was actually Charlotte MacGregor Todd. Sharlie was a nickname for Charlotte. The actual last name is Todd. She is an important part of my families ancestry. Charlotte was born September 6, 1867 in Milwaukie, Wisconsin. This can be verified by the passport application for Charlotte available at ancestry.com The passport issue date was August 1, 1887.

My connection to Charlotte is my Great Grandmother who was Charlotte's Aunt. My Great Grandmother's maiden name was Anderson Todd.

Also, a marriage record for Charlotte MacGregor Todd and Hector Lucien Monod is available at the familysearch.org website. Jacques' Father's name was actually Hector Lucien Monod, and it seems he preferred to go by Lucien. The marriage took place in Paris, France November 5, 1896. To find the actual record for the marriage you can go to familysearch.org, then click on Europe. Scroll down to France, Protestant Church Records, 1612-1906, and click on it. Enter Hector Monod in the search engine. This will bring up 2 marriages for Hector Lucien Monod. Charlotte was his second wife. Click on his name for the marriage with Charlotte.

This brings up transcribed info for the marriage. To the left is the actual document. Click on it and you can see the actual marriage record. The transcribed record shows Charlotte's Mother's name incorrectly, and it is actually Salene Elmore. Charlotte's Father is correct as Robert MacGregor Todd.

Charlotte's name has been incorrectly shown on many biographies for Jacques. Again, I feel it important to show the correct name for his Mother.

We came by chance?

If he says that life in the universe is a result of chance why should we give him credit? If ultimately everything is happening by chance there is no point in praising/criticizing/honoring/dishonoring anybody. He deserves no credit at all. He is just putting forward theories, and these theories have ultimately come by... chance. And still we give this fellow some recognition. In a world which has arisen from chance there should be no honor / dishonor, no recognition, no praise, nothing. Please think about it. You can share your domestic philosophy on Facebook to discuss with your equally philosophical friends. Wikipedia is not a place for that.

Lac operon

If you want to mention the Lac operon in the introduction, then under WP:MOS you have to explain in the introduction what the Lac operon is, in language that an ordinary non-specialist reader would understand. It's not enough to just link to the WP page on the Lac operon (which would be even more difficult for an ordinary non-specialist reader to understand).

Why isn't it in the usual form of "Jacques Lucien Monod (...) was a French biochemist..."?

Evolutionary theory, Chomsky

Noam Chomsky makes the claim here that Monod was primarily responsible for French biologists being "pre-Darwinian", i.e. not accepting the theory of evolution.
