Relevance of sword and civic crown
editI believe the sword and civic crown are incredibly irrelevant to the mention of the painting. A key takeaway of the painting is him having the keys to the Bastille, and the former governor’s letter. Those are historically important artifacts and a focal point of a painting about the capture of the Bastille; the laurel wreath on his head (civic crown?) and a sword are not.
