Some keypoints for updating the article edit

  • social passport = school education and learned cultural elements [1]
  • a passport allows individual to manage their behavior [1]
  • Digital Citizenship is an alternative to a traditional passport [2]
  • the internet is working different from the real world: there is no passport, no vaccination and no speed limit [3]

Literature about the ethical concerns edit

Hi!

In the German article, written by me (current version), is much more information about the passport. This confused me, because the literature used is English. My English isn't the best, therefore I won't write an English article, but hopefully the authors (@Jpatokal, MarkZusab, Chris Capoccia, and Sdkb: ?) of the article could add some information. Habitator terrae, I've added the {{Expand German}} template to this page. Cheers, {{u|Sdkb}}talk 23:43, 10 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

DMY dates and non-US English edit

Just because this article consistently uses non-US date formats says nothing about the flavour of English spelling it should use.

Although this article was started at 13:58, on 1 May 2020‎, the first edit that introduced varietal English spellings on that date used the non-US English flavours of travelled and traveller and travellers.

Since this article is not on a topic that has strong ties to a particular English-speaking nation, we should now consistently use the variety found in the first post-stub revision that introduced an identifiable variety: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Immunity_passport&type=revision&diff=991300720&oldid=982118814 --BushelCandle 05:22, 14 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

passport data edit

The IATA Travel Pass app requires a biometric passport and an Android 6.0 (API Level 23) or newer NFC device or an iOS NFC device.[63] The passport data will be stored in the iPhone Secure Enclave or similar Android hardware.

Which data is stored on the iPhone Secure Enclave or similar Android hardware? Is this passport data or any covid data? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.67.202.229 (talkcontribs) 3 August 2021 06h25 (UTC)

This article is a mess edit

I suggest splitting off the article, keeping the original concept as it is and having a separate page for just COVID-19. There is confusion about whether this is about a vaccine passport or perceived immunity through previous infection. Due to the fact only some jurisdictions have begun using a passport system it's obvious there's some bias toward those places that have already begun doing so, however for the most part it's a very UK/US centric article. CaffeinAddict (talk) 10:31, 14 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

Perhaps you could start the "separate page for just COVID-19" in draft form in your own user space, CaffeinAddict, and then notify everybody on this page when you think it's sufficiently developed for the split to occur and this article be shortened so there is less Covid-specific stuff in this article?
(Obviously given the polarisation in the US, many there may not understand that Immunity passports like the EU Green Pass certify a level of immunity acquired either through vaccination or previous infection) --10:42, 14 September 2021 (UTC) BushelCandle
Yeah there doesn't seem to be many active editors even though vaccine passports seem to be being kicked around quite a bit all over the world. Going to tag the following historic editors: Kches16414 Qxbase, Kahlores, Financialtechpro, Edl-irishboy, X-Editor, BBQboffin, Trigenibinion, Boghog, Rheazhii, Matthewberns.
Proposal: Split article into immunity/vaccine passports and COVID-19 Vaccine Passports CaffeinAddict (talk) 04:07, 16 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
I still think you should start the "separate page for just COVID-19" in draft form in your own user space, CaffeinAddict, and until and unless you do I would NOT support your proposal because of doubts about its feasibility, I'm afraid... --04:42, 16 September 2021 (UTC) BushelCandleReply
Sooner or later, there will be a split. I suggest to put everything related to Covid into a specific article, which would be linked here.
We could then add a list of all such passports, past and present. Kahlores (talk) 18:37, 16 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
Did my part. Kahlores (talk) 19:10, 16 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
We definitely need a split at this point, maybe even have an article dedicated to COVID-19 vaccine passports in the United States since that is definitely notable enough on its own due to polarization in the country. X-Editor (talk) 19:25, 16 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
I created a draft article for COVID-19 immunity passports here based on the COVID content on the current immunity passport article. X-Editor (talk) 19:35, 16 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
I also created a draft article based on most of the info from this article here - the other point of contention would be in North America (and I'm in Canada) most news outlets are using the phrase "Vaccine Passport" whether or not that's what the Province/State is calling it themselves. I understand in different jurisdictions all over the world it's called different things. I'm trying to figure out the Common Name for said concept. In my draft I called it a Vaccine Passport. CaffeinAddict (talk) 21:35, 16 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
I agree a split would be helpful but "Vaccine Passport" should not be the name for the COVID split page, since as @BushelCandle already pointed out, EU countries allow unvaccinated people to obtain a "Green Pass" by proving either a recovery from COVID or by having a recent negative test. In UK it's the "NHS COVID Pass" but like with the UK, getting a vaccine isn't the only way to get get one.BBQboffin (talk) 21:18, 17 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

There seems to be a lot of confusion here between jab records and immunity passports. An immunity passport is a generic document that certifies that the bearer has a degree of immunity from a specific contagious disease or diseases. That immunity might have been acquired via natural means or via medical procedures such as jabs or oral administration.

Think of it this way: motorcycles, trucks and vans are all vehicles - but not all vehicles are trucks.

This confusion is especially prevalent in the US where the attitudes seem to be both remarkably ignorant and politically polarised, so I personally would welcome an article entitled: COVID inoculation in the Untied States. --08:34, 17 September 2021 (UTC) BushelCandle

That doesn't change the fact vaccine passports are popping up all over the world and the general gist is a) they are usually a proof of vaccination. b) they have an effect on the overall Deployment of COVID-19 vaccines worldwide where they are implemented. This is not just a US or North American issue. The current article distracts from the concept. CaffeinAddict (talk) 09:45, 17 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
Additionally - such an article already exists at COVID-19 vaccination in the United States. CaffeinAddict (talk) 09:48, 17 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

So BushelCandle. I see you've already created the article COVID-19 Vaccine Passport. CaffeinAddict (talk) 01:59, 18 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

And some of the so-called "Vaccine Passports" mentioned on that page can be acquired without actually getting a vaccine, like the UK's NHS COVID Pass. Sorting the content based on the current (but in flux) terms of the various passes means a lot of movement of content as those terms change. Countries and confederations of countries don't change that often. I think the content is best arranged by having all the COVID-related stuff on one page (which could link to country-specific pages) and the pre-COVID immunity passport stuff on another. BBQboffin (talk) 06:41, 18 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
That's certainly an idea to consider.
I do agree that, despite the two hat notes on the respective articles, many casual editors will not stop to consider the distinctions between our generic Immunity passport article and the more specific COVID-19 Vaccine Passport article I just created.
Also, it's almost inevitable that some will react badly when their badly thought out additions to the new article are corrected or reversed.
On a more positive note, may I invite you and any other editors that understand the distinction between the two articles to head on over to our new COVID-19 Vaccine Passport article and improve it...
--07:07, 18 September 2021 (UTC) BushelCandle
Inviting us to understand the distinction between the two articles according to your definition and your definition alone? You rushed to create the new article in haste without considering any of the rest of the editors that I asked for opinions on and are now controlling both. You essentially copied and pasted the framework of my draft, rearranged it as you saw fit and slapped a NZ english tag on it like you were rushing to the north pole to put your flag up. The whole point was to not confuse what a vaccine/immunity/etc passport with the original article. I have faith some other editors will slap some sense into you if anymore eyes go on these articles. But for now I'm out, so much trying to help out. You can't be worked with. CaffeinAddict (talk) 19:49, 18 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

Links for EU Digital COVID Certificate...and other official sites edit

Hi

it seems to me that the link below must be added to Immunity_passport#EU_Digital_COVID_Certificate section:

ec.europa.eu/info/live-work-travel-eu/coronavirus-response/safe-covid-19-vaccines-europeans/eu-digital-covid-certificate_en

Thank you

--5.171.9.194 (talk) 20:16, 26 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

So added. The UK COVID Pass links to its official page, so why not do the same for the EU one. Should we make an "External Links" section for these? BBQboffin (talk) 21:43, 26 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

COVID-19 Section edit

I added a "short summary" as suggested by @X-Editor. I think it's enough and the Expansion tag can be removed. BBQboffin (talk) 23:31, 11 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
