Appearance and portrait

edit

There seems an obvious contradiction in this article, which states that Hortense "had blonde hair and big blue eyes", whereas the portrait shown gives her brown hair and brown eyes. This isn't my area, and it may be entirely possible that her hair colour changed, but the disparity makes the article look amateur to a casual reader. Could someone either (a) provide a citation for the description or (b) find a picture that more closely fits the description? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Oriana Naso (talkcontribs) 05:43, 4 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

I know this was a dozen years ago, but if you take each portrait to maximum magnification, the eyes are blue. As for her hair color, she was a golden-haired child. I have known several such whose hair darkened with maturity. J S Ayer (talk) 04:09, 9 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

'Clever' Pregnancy Hiding?

edit

It says that she "cleverly disguised her pregnancy (she was by then, in her sixth month), during the baptism of Napoleon's son, Napoleon II when she was chosen to be one of the child's godmothers, an honour she shared with Madame Mère, mother of the Emperor" but it doesn't cite a source or describe exactly how this was done. I'm all kinds of intrigued now, but this is just leaving me hanging. 76.122.199.36 (talk) 23:27, 16 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

paternity of N3

edit

YOMAL SIDOROFF-BIARMSKII made a couple of insertions that meant, obliquely but clearly implying that Charles Joseph, comte de Flahaut, was the father of Napoleon III as well as of the acknowledged bastard de Morny. If we're going to say that, let's say it directly, eh? Furius undid one of these edits and I undid the other. —Tamfang (talk) 23:37, 19 November 2016 (UTC)Reply
