There's a 1985 Washington Post article on her, headlined "Heeding the Call of the Wild"; it appears to have more on her congressional testimony. I can't click fast enough to override the paywall message, and Wayback doesn't seem to have it. Yngvadottir (talk) 19:31, 25 April 2019 (UTC)Reply
Got it. Here are the relevant bits: "Hope has been called on to testify in Washington so many times that she knows the senators by their first names," says New York businessman Hugh Paulk, a friend of Ryden's for 25 years. [many paragraphs omitted] Ryden's testimony before Congress helped to pass a 1971 bill "protecting wild free roaming horses and burros."
