Merger proposal edit

I propose to merge Lasky-DeMille Barn into Hollywood Heritage Museum. I think that the content in the Lasky-DeMille Barn article can easily be explained in the context of the museum (as its largest artifact), and the two articles are both of reasonable size such that the merging will not cause any problems as far as article size is concerned. Merger would reduce duplication of content and provide a clearer, simpler-to-digest presentation for readers. Both articles were created in 2004 by User:FredR, who apparently anticipated that separate articles for organization vs. building would be appropriate. Since then, there has been much more development of "combo" articles about organizations and their places, e.g. to cover in one article an ongoing or historical church organization and the building(s) it has occupied, and similarly for many historic sites and corresponding entities. --Doncram (talk) 20:18, 25 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

Would the merged article still qualify as a California Historical Landmarks in Los Angeles County, as clearly Lasky-DeMille Barn does? I believe that it is important to maintain continuity with that list on Wikipedia, rather than break the link. Also the DeMills Barn is a NRHP I do not think a merge would respect that. For both reasons I am against the merge. --Krok6kola (talk) 00:22, 18 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
Support merge due to overlap. To address Krok6kola's concerns, the listing will be maintained as the merge can be completed keeping the categories where they are. To be specific, complete the merge, and keep the Category:National Register of Historic Places in Los Angeles on the Lasky-DeMille Barn page. There would also be no reason to remove its listing on California Historical Landmarks in Los Angeles County, and the redirect, placed with the merge, maintains the link without any action having to be taken on that page.
