Request for anybody who watches this page edit

Maybe we could collaborate and improve the FromSoftware article? FromSoftware isn't a niche developer anymore, and their page is tiny, with Miyazaki's article being more in depth. ~ Dissident93 (talk) 00:51, 1 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

Photo of Subject edit

I think a photo of the man, considering is notable fame at this point is an order, I have access to an image from Flickr labeled for common reuse, if no one objects I will place it into his side page with a link to where it came from and all the other required attributions. • @Kipras Is Present: Can you link to it first? The last one you uploaded was taken from the PlayStation Blog and you provided no proof of being given free-use permissions. ~ Dissident93 (talk) 20:41, 2 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

https://www.flickr.com/photos/playstationblogeurope/16846084876 , https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/2.0/ This is the link to both the photo on the website, and the non-commercial license respectively. I've had a bot remove the photo on, from what I can piece together, the grounds that it is marked for non-commercial use. Do you have any advice for me? I simply want to put up a photo of the man but given his reclusive nature and the difficulty on finding solid photos that are free to use it has not been an easy task. • @Kipras Is Present: I blame the overzealous Wikipedia image policies, as the Flickr photo clearly allows for "free use", but as it's not the exact type of license Wikicommons accepts, it gets deleted. I'm not sure where you could go to argue this, and it's probably moot anyway because they'd just point to their licensing terms without really discussion why it should be deleted. EDIT: On further look, it seems like it can't be used for non commercial reasons, which I guess Wikipedia falls under somehow? You're best bet is to find another photo of him (or maybe this one) and then try to ask for permission from the copyright owner to use it here, because it seems unlikely that Miyazaki goes into a public place (convention or E3) and gets a photo taken by a photographer who then releases it as free-use. ~ Dissident93 (talk) 21:38, 7 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

Miyazaki's birthday edit

Does anyone have a reference for the date of his birthday? Because it is probably not January 1st. A few websites and wiki pages in other languages seem to have copied this date, but we don't know for sure yet. -Artanisen (talk) 11:46, 7 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

99.9% sure it's just a placeholder date since his exact DOB is unknown. I've gone ahead and revered to the old format. ~ Dissident93 (talk) 19:31, 7 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
Alright, thanks. If anyone knows the exact date, feel free to update it with a reference. -Artanisen (talk) 14:23, 8 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

Can we get a photo? edit

I tried to upload one but was denied while back and I see it's still lacking one. Is there anything we can do about this? Bigbossbalrog (talk) 01:46, 27 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

Not until we get an image that we can freely use or are granted permission by a publication to use one of theirs. See the post above. ~ Dissident93 (talk) 17:42, 27 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
