Article mergers
editThe problem with the title of this article is that four names are used in historical accounts to refer to this Japanese general. Many "western" accounts refer to his "given" name as "Harukichi." Japanese records appear to refer to him as "Haruyoshi", "Harukoshi", or "Seikichi." Some western histories have begun to refer to him with Seikichi or Harukoshi (like Lundstrom's book, The First Team and the Guadalcanal Campaign). Since all four names are similar, the confusion is probably due to varied interpretations of the Chinese characters (Kanji) used to spell his given name. Until someone can verify what the true reading of his given name is, I don't know what the title of this article should be. Cla68 01:38, 20 March 2007 (UTC)
