Episode 14? Pumpkin Lantern

edit

There is episode 14 - OVA? Called Pumpkin Lantern. I've just watched it, it has the same ending/op as the rest of the series. Hard to find sources for it, here's an official twitter mentioning it. Not sure if we should upgrade episode count to 14 or list it as OVA? PS. The tweet refers to the episode as EX2, I wonder what's EX1? --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 04:09, 19 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

@Piotrus: What do the sources say? If the sources consider it an OVA rather than as Episode 14, then list it as an OVA, while the infobox could say "13 episodes + 1 OVA". Also, as a note, it's actually pretty common for OVAs these days (usually the ones considered bonus or un-aired episodes) to have the same OP/ED as the regular TV episodes. @Narutolovehinata5: The problem is I cannot find any sources about it outside said twitter. That, and well, I've seen it and it is available for watching on sites we, ehm, don't link to because piracy etc :D (Whether it is available on Crunchyroll or such, don't know since "Sorry, due to licensing limitations, videos are unavailable in your region." so I cannot even see an episode list). And I don't speak/read Japanese so while there are presumably sources in Japanese I cannot easily find them. The best I can point out to is the JPN wiki. ja:グランブルーファンタジー#各話リスト lists the series as having 12 episodes (not 13), episode 13 'Another Sky' is classified as 'Extra1', and epsisode 14 'カボチャのランタン Jack O'Lantern' is classified as Extra2 (OVA). Why is Extra1 not classified as OVA, I don't know, and of course said table on ja wiki is unreferenced. So... how do we proceed? The series has either 12 episodes + 2 OVA, 13+1 or 14 episodes. I would lean towards the first one, simply because the last two episodes seem OVA-ish, plot-wise (the main character changes...). But that's is, of course, OR. :D Best source would be to find info on how they were aired, and whether the last two episodes were aired or were some bonuses/etc. but if this info exists, it is presumably only in Japanese and beyond my research skills. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 09:41, 19 March 2018 (UTC)Reply
The one with "Extra1" it was from the Tokyo mx web-site. But when crunchyroll released it, they went with "Another Sky". Or put a note about it. "Extra1 was referred as episode 13 on crunchyroll as on Tokyo mx, was"..
From some refs they listed 14 episodes. But earlier when I looked at there it said 13. Then the "ref bd/dvd," had just lists 13, at the time. With it having "EX1". Or maybe it was; "show has 13 episodes" (as shown from their web-site.) then EX1, as episode 13. but near to the end of show's run time, the web-site now lists 14, not 13. But that could of changed a while later and arranged a person to add an "EX1 and EX2." Since that was in the spring season of last year. Tainted-wingsz (talk) 15:22, 19 March 2018 (UTC)Reply
The anime website shows 12 regular episodes and EX1 and EX2. [1] So I would restructure the episode listing like that with 12 + 2 OVAs, EX1 was broadcast on Tokyo MX and the EX2 was released with EX1 as a direct-to-video as Vol. 7 (Blu-Ray & DVD) [2]. When the second season comes, check whether the first episode is numbered 13 or 15. If it's numbered 1 then you can choose either to number EX1 and EX2 as 13 and 14 overall or leave it as EX1 and EX2 and number episode 1 as 13 overall.
