Goathland (Incline Top) railway stationGoathland Bank Top railway station – The name of the station was Goathland Bank Top. Cites I have for this are as follows;[1][2][3][4][5]

The lead in the article states The actual station was known simply as Goathland but this article is so named to distinguish it from the later Goathland railway station. So the person who wrote the article acted in good faith, but did not know. I list it here for renaming to Goathland Bank Top. The issue is the format (which has been controversial of late with disambiguators etc).

It is currently listed as Goathland (Incline Top) railway station but I believe that it should be Goathland Bank Top railway station, without the brackets because all the cites list it as such and the name Bank Top is enough to disambiguate it from Goathland railway station. However, I recognise that there may be some issue with the correct titling of the article so I have listed it at Controversial Moves. Regards. • Support - for the reasons I have stated above. Regards. The joy of all things (talk) 23:00, 31 December 2017 (UTC)Reply
  • Neutral on moving, without checking references, but the lead sentence this article is so named to distinguish it from the later Goathland railway station is jarring and a self-reference, and needs to be removed. Happy New Year! Optimist on the run (talk) 07:18, 1 January 2018 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for your comments and Happy New Year to you, too. The joy of all things (talk) 08:05, 1 January 2018 (UTC)Reply
Cuchullain Thank you for your comments; as I moved house in December, I was unaware that the RfC on UKSTATIONS had come to end and had reached a consolidated agreement. I should have checked there first. Regards. The joy of all things (talk) 16:13, 2 January 2018 (UTC)Reply
