Hi Lugnuts, fair question: the summary of WP:FRMOS is "French proper names and expressions should respect the use of accents and ligatures in French." and the summary of WP:IRS is "best such sources" "reliable for the statement being made" + by "all the usual" I mean WP:UE particularly (..to constitute an established usage, follow the conventions of the language appropriate to the subject (German for German politicians,...) WP:MOSPN WP:NCP WP:EN all of which indicate examples of using accents.
The sources are: (i) Journal officiel de la République française 1885 which records a medal to "M. Debax (Félix), à Toulouse.", (ii) the Sveriges statskalender which records "Debax, Félix Lucien Roger," (iii) his military memorial DEBAX, Félix Lucien Roger indicates his name. Unfortunately I don't know enough about French military to bluelink "bataillon au 240e RI" into the bio.
Do you still oppose? In ictu oculi (talk) 16:16, 13 July 2012 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for the reply (and adding the sources to the article in question). I no longer oppose this. Infact, I'll be bold and move it anyway. Thanks again! Lugnuts (talk) 17:45, 13 July 2012 (UTC)Reply
