ce tag edit

ive shifted the ce tag down for now. DTM (talk) 13:16, 5 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

DiplomatTesterMan, thanks, but what purpose does that serve? SerChevalerie (talk) 20:03, 5 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
Although an essay, i would like to point out Wikipedia:Do it yourself. Please give two three reasons why you put the CE tag and I will make the corrections. Also, I will put this in GOCE, but not now, since there is significant expansion still happening. DTM (talk) 01:44, 6 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
Have added the reason, mainly noticed the use of informal language (fixed the first few mistakes that I could see). Merely tagged the page to inform any interested editors, didn't mean to undermine the work put in by you or any other editor of this article, until such time that I can do the edits myself. SerChevalerie (talk) 03:41, 6 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
It isn't undermining my work that bothers, it is that just placing the tag doesn't fix the mistakes I have made, which I know are there. I know my copy could be better, and I place it in GOCE where needed. Rarely have I seen a CE tag do what it is suppose to do. But yes, the tag is there for a reason so I can't complain. I have tagged here and there myself too. DTM (talk) 07:14, 7 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
To be a bit more specific about the reason, we could follow some of the guidelines wrt WP:MOS. And yes, I promise to help myself. SerChevalerie (talk) 16:51, 8 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
@SerChevalerie: Yes, thank you for mentioning WP:MOS. I overlook it sometimes. I am trying to sort out the headers and structure. And please keep making edits. I really want to make this a complete page. Thanks. DTM (talk) 07:32, 12 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
DiplomatTesterMan, have removed the tags for now, will definitely need some cleanup to reach GA status after all this is (hopefully) settled, but looks fine for now. I'll continue to help when possible. In the meantime, great work on your part! SerChevalerie (talk) 18:30, 23 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

Gallery images edit

DiplomatTesterMan, the pictures I had removed are merely of empty streets, maybe they could go to COVID-19 pandemic lockdown in India‎, since they aren't clearly indicative of the economic condition of the country. SerChevalerie (talk) 03:46, 6 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

SerChevalerie The images you removed, why they were there:
  1. Kolkata image: A major city/metropolitan, with the metro also visible. This image isn't to be seen in singularity but in combination with the Vadodara and Delhi one. Gives a more pan-India feel.
  2. Vadodara image: Same as above.
  3. Medicine shop image: This image which you left, is the least relevant actually. Medicine shops were allowed to stay open as an essential service. So the image has little relevance and is rather misleading. Just that editorially the message it conveys is suitable.
  4. CP image: CP is one of the costliest business centres in India and the World. As the article says "As of July 2018, Connaught Place was the ninth most expensive office location in the world with an annual rent of US$153 per sq ft". If there was a better image of CP i would place that. I was even considering placing an old image and giving it context, but i didn't want to do that, didn't feel apt here.
If there were images of shut factories or tea fields going to waste or schools and MNCs shut or drone shots of closed cities, i would have used them to. But after a quick see through of the image people have uploaded, all wonderful images nevertheless, I choose these. So if you still think they have no relevance or if you can find more suitable ones... go ahead. DTM (talk) 07:07, 7 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
DiplomatTesterMan, that does make sense, but as you said, if we find better pictures, those should definitely go there. For example, I liked the pictures of the newspaper and vegetable vendors wearing masks. SerChevalerie (talk) 16:53, 8 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
SerChevalerie, those two are good ones, I agree. I have also put a graph. I intend to get some more relevant data that is in the public domain and add a couple of relevant graphs. Ideas are welcome. DTM (talk) 07:34, 12 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
I went ahead and deleted the gallery section. DTM (talk) 13:34, 18 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
DiplomatTesterMan, sorry, didn't see this. Just as a suggestion, could you try making the graphs like how it's done at Template:COVID-19 pandemic data/India testing data? In any case, great work with the graphs! SerChevalerie (talk) 18:37, 23 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

Copyright checks edit

An Earwigs copyvio check on 18 May 2020 threw up this article which has been copied from here. The other checked URLs throw up a maximum of 33%, with this also being linked to quotes (for the first). DTM (talk) 13:39, 18 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

They're within their rights to use content from the article, but good that you mentioned the reverse copyvio here. SerChevalerie (talk) 18:33, 23 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

Please help out with a small formatting problem edit

@SerChevalerie: I am having a formatting problem in the lead. I can't seem to create the correct spacing/paragraph space/line break between the last two paragraphs. Between these two lines -

  • The World Bank and Asian Development Bank have approved support to India to tackle the coronavirus pandemic.[16]
  • On 14 April 2020, the Prime Minister of India extended the lockdown to 3 May. A new set of guidelines for the calibrated opening of the economy and relaxation of the lockdown were also set in place which would take effect from 20 April.[17]

Everywhere else the spacing is ok, I have never faced this problem. Can't seem to figure out what I am doing wrong. Even the line break <br /> doesn't seem to solve it. Thanks in advance. DTM (talk) 09:25, 25 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

Cause seem to be the Template:COVID-19 pandemic sidebar, which was appended to the last paragraph. Fixed now after adding it to a new line. Shanze1 (talk) 09:36, 25 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

Thank you! DTM (talk) 10:40, 25 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
