The result of the move request was: not moved. Consensus that the spelling difference of Labor vs. Labour would not be sufficiently distinct to justify the use of WP:SMALLDETAILS, and thus that the proposed title would be incomplete disambiguation. Democratic Labour Party (Australia, 1980) → Democratic Labour Party (Australia) – I had the current page name as the suggestion when the split discussion opened like 9 months ago - but @ITBF brought this up, I think it'd be fine and easier if we reverted to the new party name (note that the original DLP never spelt it "Labour") without the year Totallynotarandomalt69 (talk) 23:54, 10 March 2024 (UTC) — Relisting. – robertsky (talk) 02:18, 23 March 2024 (UTC)
Comment leaningopposed: That seems like WP:INCOMPLETEDAB relative to Democratic Labor Party (historical). Is the spelling difference actually meaningful? Would people know there was a spelling difference? - Support. I think the spelling difference Labor vs Labour is sufficient disambiguation in this particular instance, and it makes the disambiguator less awkward so that's a win. If we were going to argue about spellings, then arguably the name Democratic Labor Party (historical) would be a more ambiguous case anyway, given that there are several other "historical" parties listed as Democratic Labour Party. Democratic Labour Party (Australia, 1980) → Democratic Labour Party (Australia, 1978–present) – or Democratic Labour Party (Australia, founded 1978). According to the article, the party was founded in 1978, not 1980. The party has continued to exist up to the present time, which may be better described by "1978–present" rather than just 1978 alone. — BarrelProof (talk) 18:58, 1 April 2024 (UTC)
