Question

edit

The media have given coverage to Robles' signing a letter calling for greater respect of human rights in China. Is it worth mentioning in the article? I suggest the following phrasing:

Prior to the Games, Robles was one of forty athletes who signed a letter calling upon Chinese President Hu Jintao to "to enable a peaceful solution for the issue of Tibet and other conflicts in your country with respect to fundamental principles of human rights". The letter also asked Hu to improve freedom of expression and religion in China, to abolish the death penalty and to cease the detaining of human rights advocates. Robles' signing of the letter received significant media coverage.[1] [2] [3] [4] Aridd (talk) 23:11, 21 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Disqualified medal in table

edit

When one puts the "disqualified medal" in the medal table, isn't that typically reserved for individuals that tested positive on drug tests (for example, Rashid Ramzi)? It's kind of misleading in my opinion because being disqualified in a race isn't something that's total abnormal. For example, the Canadian men's 4×100 team in London was disqualified for a lane violation after initially finishing third, but I don't see the "disqualified medal" on any of the athletes pages. If there are no objections, I will remove the medal in a few days. Philipmj24 (talk) 14:05, 1 February 2013 (UTC)Reply
