The result of the move request was: Move. There is a rough consensus for the move. As noted, adding the nickname "Skippy" to the title isn't preferable, and the fact that there isn't any coverage of the other driver named David Parsons means the disambiguator "racing driver" is acceptable. David "Skippy" Parsons → David Parsons (racing driver) – Move history:-

• • At 04:15, 24 March 2011‎ User:Falcadore moved David Parsons (racing driver) to David "Skippy" Parsons over redirect, with comment: "There are two David John Parsons racing drivers in Australia. The most common disambiguator between them are the nicknames "Skippy" and "Truckie".".
  • At 21:54, 2 March 2016‎ User:LibStar asked for that move to be reverted, but wrongly presented his move request as a history-merge request.

• Reject, As before. Two racing drivers with the same name, even down to their middle names, raced together in the same categories. The two have been seperated by the nicknames Skippy and Truckie. • Agree Yes there are 2 David Parsons, but as the second has never been deemed noteworthy enough to justify an article, there is no disambiguation requirement, so agree article name should return to David Parsons (racing driver). Impala27 (talk) 04:25, 5 March 2016 (UTC)

Article name

With an article having now been created for David "Truckie" Parsons since the above discussion, this page should probably now become a disambiguation page.

Do we want to reinstate using: nicknames, i.e. David "Truckie" Parsons and David "Skippy" Parsons or have something more formal David Parsons (racing driver, born 1955) and David Parsons (racing driver, born 1959)? Middle names would be an option, but apparently both share that too.

I know I'm a bit late to the party, but I agree with the use of formal naming. Nowhere else in this instance are nicknames used (that I'm aware of) - plenty of footballers go by the 'formal format'. Holdenman05 (talk) 00:15, 15 April 2017 (UTC)
