Talk:Criterion of multiple attestation

[Untitled] edit

Thanks, Thomasmeeks, for the response. All information comes from either Meier or Ehrman (including the citations of Q, Josephus, etc). I apologize I was did not cite the source with an inline reference. I will work to convert both articles over to the cite.php/ref tags. And after that, who knows, maybe I'll work on more criteria. As I said before, my biggest concern is that we are using a direct quote to define the criterion. I would appreciate anyone making an effort to paraphrase or summarize in our own words the first Meier quotes in each article. Thanks for contributing to these articles, and keep up the good work.--Andrew c 22:36, 25 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Easy enough to get the citation (which must be from Ehrman, as I could not find it in Meier, v. 1). A legitimate concern on the quotation side. Still, IMHO what's there looks pretty innocuous. I try hard to do the same thing in terms of boiling down and paraphrasing. BW, Thomasmeeks 23:01, 25 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Whose tool? While Independent attestation is used by Biblical scholars, but it is a Historian's tool. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.164.243.231 (talk) 18:31, 6 December 2012 (UTC)Reply
