Spellcheck

Can someone please put this through spellcheck? There are usage errors.

pianist

It's mentioned in the Taxi (TV Show) article, that Jim Ignatowski (Chris Lloyd) played the piano masterfully. I didn't see the episode, but I've always heard that it was really Mr. Lloyd playing on-set. If this is true, or if it can be verified that he's a classically trained pianist, I think that should be mentioned in this biographical entry. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.110.121.29 (talk) 03:12, 7 September 2007 (UTC)

Filmography

  • Fly Me to the Moon (2007)
  • Valerie on the Stars (2007)
  • Foodfight! (2008)
  • A Christmas Carol (2009)

I know this is Christopher "Doc" Lloyd page but this encyclopedia cannot travel in time. ;)
Even if this films are finished or in post-production, we should wait until the movies come out ?

Why is there no mention that he appeared in the TV show Spin City? After all in the Spin City section under trivia it is mentioned. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Flight in sight (talkcontribs) 21:57, 4 August 2009 (UTC)

Toonstruck

He played the central character "Drew Blanc" in the 1996 video game 'Toonstruck,' not just voicing the character but actually being filmed/digitized to create all of the character's animations. Does anyone else think this is notable enough to be worth mentioning? The game is fairly obscure these days (a shame, because it's excellent) but it's not often that an actor works on a game and is actually digitized like this. Ubermammal (talk) 13:43, 6 January 2008 (UTC) I purchased this game in the 90's and I still have it. It is definately worth mentioning. Copies occasionally show up on Ebay. Dos game only. You probably need DosBox to get the speech part of the game. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.199.56.174 (talk) 03:09, 15 April 2009 (UTC)

Information from BTTF extras

Could any of the information found on the Back to the Future discs about Christopher Lloyd be included. Like for instance how he is an avid cross-country bicycle rider, or the fact that he is incredibly shy in real life?

MITM

I think he was in the Malcolm in the Middle episode "Family Reunion". —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.3.142.53 (talk) 03:41, 29 July 2009 (UTC)

Is there an actual place where appearances in episodes of television series are noted? They seem to pop up here and there, but there's no central heading that I've seen. I'm now (4/1/11) seeing Christopher Lloyd on 'Fringe', but I'm also wondering about a guest appearance on 'The X Files'. This doesn't seem to have a central database on the Wikipage.(----)

Microsoft Tech-Ed 2007

I noticed it had mentions of his cameo's on Spin City and The Simpsons Ride,

So should it be mentioned he reprised his Doc Emmet Brown role for Microsoft's Tech-Ed 2007 Keynote opening.

acting ability

Lloyd is a fine actor. I remember him in a Western (but not its name), and a TV movie about suburban prostitution, in which he delivered exceptional performances. His filmography appears to be incomplete, and needs expansion. WilliamSommerwerck (talk) 01:33, 1 August 2010 (UTC)

A Surprise of a Salesman: Christopher Lloyd

http://www.nytimes.com/2010/08/26/theater/26lloyd.html?hp

... when Mr. Lloyd was given the opportunity by a small New England theater company to play nearly any part he desired, his choice was almost as improbable as the notion of a time-traveling DeLorean sports car. He selected Willy Loman, the crumbling patriarch of Arthur Miller’s “Death of a Salesman,” whom Mr. Lloyd will portray at the Weston Playhouse in a run that begins on Thursday.

It is an epic part — arguably the canonical role of American theater — and one Mr. Lloyd knows he might never have landed were it not for family ties to the theater company and the serendipity of summer stock.

Mr. Lloyd returned to the Weston Playhouse in 1990 to play Sherlock Holmes opposite his brother, who portrayed Moriarty. Ever since, the theater company, whose productions are presented in a 300-seat theater just north of the Vermont Country Store, has been angling to bring him back.

When Mr. Lloyd came to Weston from his home in Montecito, Calif., for a fund-raiser in 2009 and was once again asked about plays that might interest him, he said, “I thought about it overnight, and I just sort of — ‘Death of a Salesman.’ ” —Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.250.155.34 (talk) 19:31, 25 August 2010 (UTC)

Modern Family

I saw Christopher Lloyd credited for creator of modern family . I don't see that mentioned in the article 83.101.79.137 (talk) 16:35, 14 November 2010 (UTC)

That's is Christopher Lloyd (screenwriter). Baranjka (talk) 17:57, 26 November 2010 (UTC)

Any reason why his years active end in 2010? He's still active as far as I'm aware. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.117.11.150 (talk) 22:19, 27 May 2011 (UTC)

Anti Robot Chicken Conspiracy at Wikipedia??

Is there a conspiracy to prevent Robot Chicken episodes from being added to actor pages??? I am watching Season Five of Robot Chicken, and there is no mention of the actors who play themselves (and others) on Robot Chicken in the filmographies of said actors.

Early live - Mayflower passenger

What was the Mayflower? Obviously something of American historical significance, but for those of us not in the United States or not completely familiar with United States history, having no reference or link leaves this mention hanging in obscurity. VK2AFL (talk) 00:35, 11 April 2012 (UTC)

Did Lloyd fail a grade or two?

Or is the date on that photo a year or two off? If he was born in October 1938, he'd be almost 20 years old at the supposed date of that senior photo, as opposed to the usual 17 or 18. Kafziel Complaint Department: Please take a number 21:13, 21 August 2012 (UTC)

{{requested move/dated}}

– The number of views within last 90 days of the screenwriter/producer is 65,247 and of the actor is 213,097. Last month's stats for the screenwriter/producer and the actor are 20,866 and 70,836. While the "more familiar" actor is more viewed, perhaps hundreds of others everyday are looking for the screenwriter, the son of the late writer David Lloyd. There are many sources mentioning the actor, known for his flamboyant, awkward roles, like Doc Emmett Brown and Reverend Jim, but there are sources mentioning other people of the same name, like authors who are not the same actor and wrote about either gardens or science. As for the screenwriter/producer, he co-created Modern Family and served as executive producer of that show and Frasier, notable shows as of today. The screenwriter is significant Either more than or as equally the actor, but I am not proposing the screenwriter to be the primary topic. If the article is disambiguated, perhaps the stats for the actor will decrease. When I see "Christopher Lloyd", in credits of Frasier, I get confused and thought, "An actor writing an episode?" At least I added the writer's name in the hatnote to prevent further access. George Ho (talk) 21:09, 20 December 2013 (UTC)

  • Oppose. Nothing in the above argument actually shows this Christopher Lloyd isn't the primary topic. Hot Stop 23:50, 20 December 2013 (UTC)
  • Support. Ratio of only 3:1 against one of the other articles on the disambiguation page is not PT. Also we don't know how many of those views were intending to reach the screenwriters page. Zarcadia (talk) 23:59, 20 December 2013 (UTC)
  • Oppose. The extremely well-known and popular actor is far more who people will mean when searching for "Christopher Lloyd" as opposed to, say, the very fine but much-less-known TV producer. --Tenebrae (talk) 01:45, 21 December 2013 (UTC)
  • Oppose. Long-term page view stats still show a significant amount for the actor. A page move at this time solely based on last months stats would be a recentism action in my view. Zzyzx11 (talk) 07:16, 21 December 2013 (UTC)
  • Oppose The last 90 days are not representative enough. I have analysed this information for the whole year of 2013 (results below). From this it's clear, that the actor has far more page views than the other Christopher Lloyds combined, in every month. From comparing the first and the last column its also clear, that only a disproportionally small amount of readers/users go over to the disambiguation page. • Oppose The actor is the primary topic and will continue to be. It's the writer's fault for not choosing a different name. Taylor Trescott - my talk + my edits 20:23, 23 December 2013 (UTC)
  • Support. Up until this moment, I didn't realize that there were two people in show business sharing this name, and assumed that all the times I had seen Christopher Lloyd credited as a writer/producer/creator, it was the actor (since there are many people in Hollywood who wear both hats). bd2412 T 23:38, 24 December 2013 (UTC)
  • Yes, but I incorrectly automatically assumed the actor, when the name I was looking at was that of the screenwriter; the screenwriter in my personal experience was not obscure in the sense of being unimportant, but in the sense of being mistaken for the actor. bd2412 T 20:51, 26 December 2013 (UTC)
  • I thought about this a while, but I must oppose this. I really enjoy the screenwriters works, but I dont think hes hit the level of significance that the actor has. The actor has a lot of really well-known roles in lots of blockbuster movies, and many are still talked about today, but I dont think the writers works will hold up. YouTube video

What is the Wikipedia policy on YouTube videos for actor biographies? More and more, performers are doing direct-to-YouTube work, and it can be significant. Lloyd did one, and it has 14 million views. That is a lot of views. If it were a movie, the movie would have earned about $150 million in ticket sales, which is considered a hit movie. So I put it in, as it own one line table. Nick Beeson (talk) 11:59, 19 November 2014 (UTC)

Edit-warring anon IP

As has been stable for years, Christopher Lloyd is properly an actor and a comedian, winning multiple comedy Emmys and primarily known for comic roles. An anon IP appears to believe "comedian" means "standup comic", which it does not. --Tenebrae (talk) 03:46, 11 February 2017 (UTC)

Occupations

A user is refusing to listen about my meaning about his occupations. It doesn't need to have "voice actor" in his occupation section, because "Actor" already covers his voice over work and it's not needed. 2600:1000:B006:1782:7CE0:A7A4:C30D:34F6 (talk) 00:50, 1 April 2017 (UTC)
