Overly long article: a word count

Does anyone know why the time line is embedded in this article? jmcw (talk) 10:24, 5 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Yes. If you look it says why. The is included primarily for editorial and reference purposes. As an unhidden timeline it would become overlarge and soon be split-off, and this would defeat its main purpose.
If people think it not worth the space it takes, it can be commented out-- or just edited down-- and then it would not hinder the loading the page so much. The timeline is 35% of the article right now.şṗøʀĸşṗøʀĸ: τᴀʟĸ 16:52, 5 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Incredibly Eurocentric, and very few citations

edit

This article is in need of a lot of work. It talks mainly about Europe and America and igores everywhere else. Additionally, There are no citations for huge statements.

Article wide CN tag added Feb 2019, and other issues.

edit

While the sections related to the Catholic Church are ... barely adequately referenced, and that by virtue of number rather than quality, all of the other sections (2,3,and 4) are almost completely devoid of useful citation.

On a less urgent note, the article seems somewhat catholic-centric. The phrasing is also somewhat lacking in NPOV. I wouldn't go as far as to call it catholic/christian aplogetica, but it is leaning that way. I haven't tagged it for NPOV, but I will be doing some copy-edits to address it, and encourage others to do the same.
