Changed to convert, metres is a more realistic conversion unit for bridges. cheers Kbthompson (talk) 15:05, 8 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Gloria Deo in Excelsis? edit

Did the original bridge really have "Gloria Deo in Excelsis" engraved on it, Gloria in Excelsis Deo would be much more common? David Underdown (talk) 14:33, 23 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Yes. Every source concurs on this. – iridescent 14:45, 23 June 2009 (UTC)Reply
Fair enough, seems bizarre though. David Underdown (talk) 14:58, 23 June 2009 (UTC)Reply
It's not an unusual phrasing in British English usage. See this inscription over the entrance to Felbrigg Hall, for example. – iridescent 15:54, 23 June 2009 (UTC)Reply
I suppose I'm just more used to singing it, either in concert, or liturgically, when it only ever appears as "Gloria in excelsis Deo". Doesn't, really matter so long as it's right in this instance. David Underdown (talk) 16:02, 23 June 2009 (UTC)Reply
