Chato surrendered with Cochise in 1872

edit

this is a FALSE statement Cochise did not surrender in 1872, he made a peace agreement with General Oliver O Howard and won the Dragoon Mtns and his stronghold as his reservation for the Chiricahua Apache...Cochise then died in 1874 and his sons Taza and Naiche were convinced to move the Chiricahua to the San Carlos by John Clum then agent at San Carlos... these historical facts can be found in Making Peace With Cochise by Sweeney taken from Alton Slaydens diary and John Clums Indian Agent his autobiography finished by his son Woodward Clum.

we have a national park in Cochise Stronghold today because Cochise did not surrender he made a verbal peace agreement with General Oliver O Howard...which both fought valiantely to preserve. Curtimus (talk) 18:42, 10 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

The McComas Massacre

edit

the massacre of the McComas family by Chatos band near Silver City is well know factual event, they shot judge McComas who died immediately and Crushed his wifes skull with either rifle butts or rocks..they then stripped the bodies and took their 5 yr old son captive with them...several newspaper articles are written about this THIS INCIDENT is the reason CROOK went to the Sierra Madres...and upon battle with Bonitos Camp Crooks scouts killed the mother of one of his warriors and in his grief the warrior bashed 5 yr old Charly McComas skull in with rocks...this is revealed in Jason Betznites I FOUGHT WITH GERONIMO as told to him by CHihuahuas daughter Ramona Chihuahau at Carlisle School. It is also addressed by Angie Debo in her book Geronimo. Curtimus (talk) 18:48, 10 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

Picture of James Arness and “Chato” as played by Ricardo Montalban. This photo is not of Montalbann; it is of actor Carl Reindel. MadamWu (talk) 14:41, 18 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
