I've removed the word "most" as Dutton is best known for his career, not his time spent in prison. Saying he is "most known" for turning his life around diminishes his work in theatre, film and television. Also removed the phrase "Art imitated life" in regards to his "Mary Phagan" role. Dutton didn't kill a girl, he was in a knife fight with another man and many accounts point to self-defense. My third change is to the incorrect statement that Dutton became famous for playing a character named "Roc" and that is why he's referred to by that name -- the nickname came first, then the character. Had to 'gut' a section. edit
Allo. I had to take out large portions of the 'Personal Life' section.
Many elements are directly lifted from his biography at hollywood.com. I assume this is an honest mistake, but listing your source after a large piece of text which heavily borrows from another work is not the same as directly attributing material to its original source.
If anyone wishes to replace the information, please remember that reintroducing the text, but slightly rephrased, is still the same as ripping off someone else's work.
Additionally...
I'm not saying that the Barbarossa incident didn't happen precisely as described, but it certainly needs to be directly cited, and better explained.
For example...
- How do we know that Barbarossa is the one who issued the challenge?
- Was Dutton literally beaten to a "pulp"? (Of course, we all know the answer, so this would need to be rephrased in a more encyclopedic tone)
- Who "forced" Barbarossa into testifying against Dutton?
Normally, I'd just add tags, but BLP very much applies here.
So, in short, I've removed anything that was heavily lifted from [1], anything that required that lifted content to make sense, and anything that violated BLP.
I'm not saying that the current edit is good. I'm just saying that it doesn't plagiarise, and doesn't violate BLP. I encourage someone better acquainted with the topic to salvage his biography to improve the article.
