Is this true?
editI read the following about him:
- He was born on Prince Edward Island. He died and was buried in Galveston, Texas. On 8 Sep 1900 a flood disinterred the coffin, which floated out into the Gulf Stream in the Gulf of Texas. In October 1908 it reached Prince Edward Island, Coghlan's home, and the plate on the coffin was recognised by fisherman as the Charles Coghlan they had known.
Q. Is this true? We currently say he was born in Paris. Both versions can't be right. JackofOz 08:52, 9 October 2006 (UTC)
- JackofOz, would a "Modern Miracles" page in Lars of Mars steer us astray? Sure, the first page has some 1951 facts about the red planet that 2021 readers might faint upon reading. But fish rain, ghost war and casket cruisers aren't like science news, they're timeless tales, I tell ya! InedibleHulk (talk) 16:54, 18 March 2021 (UTC)
- I guess I should ask you now, dear reader: Did it rain fish in Longreach, Queensland, 97 years ago this month? This day? This very hour?!? InedibleHulk (talk) 17:12, 18 March 2021 (UTC)
Spelling of his name
editCoughlan, not Coghlan. I'm watching a show called Unexlained Canada, about Charles Flockton and Charles Coughlan. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.68.36.252 (talk) 14:46, 16 February 2008 (UTC)
- No, that is not correct, it's Coghlan. -- Ssilvers (talk) 20:49, 23 February 2010 (UTC)

Dubious image
editThe image File:Wea00586.jpg, captioned here as "Aftermath 1900 Galveston Hurricane" may be nothing of the sort. As remarked at Commons talk:File:Wea00586.jpg, this may be an altered picture of the Johnstown flood. - Jmabel | Talk 15:26, 31 October 2012 (UTC)
