The page is heavily biased about the group. Failure to mention that it is one of the top listed spammers, sending messages to people that have requested to be removed from it's list. It also doesn't mention the accusations of false data that is distributed by it such as it's current campaign about Hershey's/student guest labor.

Very questionable.

Democrat support

Most signatures collected on a change.org petition

Although the article currently says that the most signatures were collected in regard to the shooting of Trayvon Martin, currently (3/22/2012 @ 1:02 PM CST) the most signatures (over 1.3 million) collected on change.org was actually in regard to Caylee's Law (Caylee Anthony):

Apolitical Platform

The basic Change.org petition platform is available to anyone regardless of nationality or political persuasion. Criticism

The criticism section contains a passage alleging change.org is misleading users into thinking its an "organization" not a business. Is the term "organization" limited to non-profits? I think the definition of 'organization' is pretty clear, an organization is any formal or even informal 'organized' group of people. This include businesses, clubs, schools, charities, non-profits, unions, political parties, sports teams, etc. Could be anything as simple as a group of friends who arrange to meet on a regular basis, up to the whole US government or the UN. Business Model is incomplete

Near the end of the signature process they ask for $5 to $1000 donation to help promote the petition. It looks like $10 will hook the petition to 50 other petitions, $50 to 250 and $100 to 500, up to $1000 donation in what they call "crowd promoting" other petitions in an attempt to get the petition at the top of the page. I can't find any sources on how they will prevent fraud by having single person or group, using multiple email addresses attached to fake (or incorrect) names/addresses to abuse this system but it's all income to them. Alatari (talk) 12:09, 26 July 2014 (UTC)

Removal of links to petitions

I propose removal of links to individual petitions from this article, for these reasons:

• They are primary sources, something we want to avoid
• In many cases there is no independent coverage offered to substantiate claims, only a link to the petition itself
• change.org petitions (and any other petitions) are blacklisted on Wikipedia

One would think, if a specific petition deserves a mention in this article, then it should have ample independent coverage in reliable sources. ~Amatulić (talk) 18:18, 16 June 2015 (UTC)

Changing the format of Notable Petitions

Could somebody change the format of the "notable petitions" section? One idea is to use bullet points, and another is to organize with subheadings, like on the We the People petition site page here. Introductory Overview

100% Nonprofit Owned

Hello all. I wanted to propose a suggestion to add into the article that as of September 2021, Change.Org is 100% nonprofit owned and is the largest tech platform to hold this title with the help of investors like Reid Hoffman and Bill Gates. I believe this is important information that could allow a reader to better understand the status of the organization.

Quality control wholly lacking

I have come across petitions by crackpots who want their physics teacher fired for being "cult leaders". Obviously these wackjob petitions do not garner a lot of signatures. This is something I've wondered about, and that the article doesn't give any information on at all. Are proposed petitions monitored and moderated at all, or can literally any fruitcake start a petition on any subject of their choice? I've certainly had petitions drop into my inbox that are, at best, one-sided and poorly informed.
