Cause of closure edit

The article previously claimed:

"When a new southern entrance was built into Knightsbridge station nearby, it sounded the death-knell for Brompton Road, which finally closed on 30 July 1934."

I've removed the reference to Knightsbridge, as it doesn't actually make any sense. Knightsbridge is 750 metres away from Brompton Road, while on the other side, South Kensington is less than 500m away. It doesn't seem logical that any change of infrastructure at Knightsbridge can have any direct bearing on the status of Brompton Road, since its so far away to begin with. To reiterate, this seems to be a myth based on nothing more than repetition. Connor (Abandoned Stations on London's Underground, 2000) claims: "when the newly rebuilt Knightsbridge was provided with an entrance fairly nearby, Brompton closed..." but there is no logic to this. The two stations are 750 metres apart, so a new southern entrance at Knightsbridge would hardly diminish the distance in any significant sense. Nick Cooper 23:41, 16 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Body edit

I the late 90s a body was found in the station's fan room. Apparently some one had fallen down one of the ventillation shafts. Refrence was on one of Nick Catford's web sites. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 124.176.49.46 (talk) 04:19, 27 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Sold again? Feb 28th 2014 edit

BBC news article 28th Feb 2014 suggests it's recently been sold by the MoD (again? Previous sale fell through?) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.153.15.10 (talk) 13:46, 28 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

Given the time gap it could be confirmation of original report (made when offer accepted) on completion of the sale. I'd say it was too quick for a failure/resale. S a g a C i t y (talk) 17:04, 28 February 2014 (UTC)Reply
