editWhat's up with the pictures? They have nothing to do with the film.--RichardKleiner (talk) 21:44, 14 January 2011 (UTC)
Inspiration
editCould we have a source identifying whether this is "loosely based on The Comedy of Errors", or is a "coincidental and playful combination of...The Town Mouse and the Country Mouse and...The Prince and the Pauper"? I realize all three stories have a similar premise, but if it's actually supposed to be a "playful combination" of all three -- or of one or two but not the other -- that might be good to know. --SchutteGod 76.171.231.104 (talk) 19:36, 21 September 2013 (UTC)
- I don't think they do all have a "similar premise". The Comedy of Errors has the element of two sets of separated twins, with comic possibilities of each pair being mistaken for the other. The Prince and the Pauper has the element of mistaken identity between people of greatly divergent social statuses. The Town Mouse and the Country Mouse has the element of the glamorous high life not being so great on close inspection. I don't know why all three couldn't have been influences (in a broad general way), though the closest specific resemblance is with the Comedy of Errors...
