Find correct name
The airport is not listed as João Paulo II anywhere.
The airport's own website calls itself simply Ponta Delgada, and has no mention of João Paulo.
Template:Regions of Portugal: statistical (NUTS3) subregions and intercommunal entities are confused; they are not the same in all regions, and should be sublisted separately in each region: intermunicipal entities are sometimes larger and split by subregions (e.g. the Metropolitan Area of Lisbon has two subregions), some intercommunal entities are containing only parts of subregions. All subregions should be listed explicitly and not assume they are only intermunicipal entities (which accessorily are not statistic subdivisions but real administrative entities, so they should be listed below, probably using a smaller font: we can safely eliminate the subgrouping by type of intermunicipal entity from this box).

Support. Does not meet WP:GNG and was already contained in target. The user who created this page has a history of dedicating articles to extremely trivial events, does not seem aware that Wikipedia allows users to take the initiative to merge pages, and does not respect consensus after the merge had been performed twice by two different users. Support - while I do not agree that this passes GNG, it makes sense to merge a battle from 1586 between the Ottomans and the Portuguese, which is a short stub, into a short article about the conflicts between the Ottomans and the Portuguese between 1586-1589.Onel5969TT me 18:08, 4 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
Oppose. The article clearly does meet WP:GNG, therefore merging due to notability would be inappropriate. Moreover, if we were to merge all Portuguese-Ottoman battles to the same page the resulting article would be too long (see WP:NOTMERGE), it is also quite convenient that the user only wants to merge articles that have Ottoman victory but not Portuguese victory, clearly POV pushing and WP:JDLI.
