This article needs work
editLet's face it - it's a tiny version of what this could be. I see this as somewhere along the lines of Battle Royale - not in terms of the film itself, but in the structure of the article. I've only seen the film once, and not seen/read the sequel/manga so my knowledge is limited, but sufficient to have some idea of what needs to be done here. The page as is could perhaps continue to exist as a summary page. However, the film, sequel, and manga each need seperate, complete articles - a plot descriptor, perhaps production details, character summaries (the main ones at least - I realise characterisation is not heavy in Azumi) and perhaps a trivia/goof section, all referenced accordingly.
I plan to buy the DVDs so after that I will be able to work on this myself, until then as a fan of Japanese films I'd be very appreciative if someone else can assist with this. Caissa's DeathAngel 02:55, 2 January 2007 (UTC)
Each movie and manga should have their own articles
editI think it's quite obvious. --HanzoHattori 16:51, 20 June 2007 (UTC)
- I don't agree, at the moment there isn't enough material to make proper articles for each subject. The info on the movies can be collected here, and when it's too much it can be split in their own article. For the moment there's no need to do so. Ninja neko 13:34, 25 July 2007 (UTC)
- I disagree as well, for much the same reasons. There are other articles about a manga+adaptations that are much larger that still comfortably fit together. (Also, this needs much more information about the manga, as the primary source of the derivative works.) —Quasirandom 16:13, 20 August 2007 (UTC)
- I still intend doing a total article on each of the films, and will do so as soon as my internet access outside work is restored (new flat, no net). The Manga I know next to nothing about so can't do anything on, but I definitely think the films warrant separate articles if enough information can be gathered - they won't be huge until links to the manga and production details can be discovered, but all the technical stuff, the plot details, character list, reception, etc can be very easily gleaned and that is the main necessity for at least a stub class film article.Addyboy 16:09, 22 August 2007 (UTC)
I'm a huge fan of the manga (not so much of the films) who has read the manga (in the original japanese) up to vol. 34 so i'm quite familiar with it, and its quite frankly nothing like the movies. The storyline, the assassination order, the foes, even the basic themes of the two are completely different. I added some details to the manga section, but i'm new to editing so there may be some formating probs. Also I plan on adding more plot summary, character introductions, etc when i have time. I'd push for a new separate manga and film sections, because the two are so radically different--my plot summary of the manga differs from the film, and the film did not go into the details (like "Kiridani" and the culture of the assassin kids) as well as altered the more horrific scenes (skipping the infamous first mission, which is tantamount to siblings fighting to the death). I guarantee there will be enough info in the manga section for there to be an independant article when i'm done with it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.254.232.201 (talk) 06:48, 30 October 2007 (UTC)
Convention seems to be that a collection of works has a central "series" page (which this should be) linking to individual works. Once enough resources have been acquired for a particular article, each can be made. As of right now, the article looks fine. Nahum Reduta (talk) 17:53, 13 January 2008 (UTC)
I concur. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.73.162.118 (talk) 14:05, 21 May 2009 (UTC)
===== Minor changes
I corrected the number of children from 12 to 10.
I changed a little bit the part about Azumi killing the baby, mostly removed the "but with a reprimanding glare". I just reread the manga, and I can't see a reprimanding glare there, these half shut eyes are just the way Ukiha always looks. To me, he seems understanding, not reprimanding in this vignette.
