Augusta–Richmond County Metropolitan Statistical Area → Augusta, Georgia metropolitan area – Change article title from an OMB statistical area to a U.S. metropolitan area. Please see Wikipedia talk:Article titles#U.S. metropolitan areas and OMB statistical areas. Relisted. BDD (talk) 21:43, 4 April 2013 (UTC) Buaidh 19:40, 26 March 2013 (UTC)
Clarification: The preferred article title for metropolitan areas is the article title of the principal city with the lower-case words " metropolitan area" appended. Please see the List of metropolitan areas of the United States. Yours aye, Buaidh 17:34, 11 April 2013 (UTC)
- Move to Augusta metropolitan area. The move is justified (see comments at Wikipedia:Categories for discussion/Log/2013 March 4#Category:Augusta – Richmond County metropolitan area), and the "Georgia" isn't needed because (1) this is the only "Augusta metropolitan area" in the world (AFAIK) and (2) the metro area includes parts of South Carolina, too. For disambiguation purposes, the article can get a hatnote pointing to an appropriate article about the Augusta, Maine, micropolitan area. --Orlady (talk) 20:08, 26 March 2013 (UTC)
- Comment what about Augusta–Richmond or Augusta-Richmond ? -- 65.92.180.137 (talk) 04:13, 27 March 2013 (UTC)
- Move to Augusta metropolitan area per Orlady. The metro area definitely includes areas in South Carolina. Additionally, "Augusta metropolitan area" appears to be the WP:COMMONNAME; looking at Google Books, it returns 1350 hits, much more than either the current title (7) or "Augusta, Georgia metropolitan area" (243). I don't think Augusta-Richmond would be a good title as it implies the article would be about the consolidated government of Augusta and Richmond County rather than the whole metro area.--Cúchullain t/c 14:22, 12 April 2013 (UTC)

MSA map
editThe map of counties in Augusta's metropolitan area includes Saluda County, SC. It should not be included as it is a part of the Columbia, SC MSA and not Augusta's.
