  • Relisting comment: Gryf, the ref you cite does show that they are officially renamed, but has this rename been reflected in English usage? Andrewa (talk) 00:43, 9 March 2017 (UTC)Reply
    • Oppose. This is an obscure linguistic change removing an inflection, and possibly correcting an error but the evidence is that it has not taken hold even in Sweden. My attempt to Google the new name returned 107,000 ghits for the old name. Forcing the new name reduced this to 57,800, which will have included many false hits (owing to the fact that the name is shortened rather than lengthened). The result of the move request was: Moved. The consensus is that when Google results are examined carefully, they tell us that Swedish sources generally used the proposed form, which has also the advantage of official status.  — Amakuru (talk) 14:42, 16 September 2017 (UTC)Reply

Arameiska-Syrianska IFArameisk-Syrianska IF – This is the official name of the club according to many, and in my book reliable, sources, e.g. the official club site (including their official Facebook page) and The Swedish Football Association's official site. If we take a look at Google results, we find that the proposed name provides 256,000 results while the current name only provides 119,000 results. In the "news" section, the proposed name beats the current name with 240 to 179. Therefore, I believe that it would be wise to move this article. Relisted to generate a more thorough discussion and clearer consensus.
Relisting comment: Relisting considering that this same move was discussed in March of this year.

Pinging Gryf and Andrewa, the participants in the previous discussion. Steel1943 (talk) 16:10, 28 August 2017 (UTC)Reply
  • Oppose. It is disturbing that nom refers to the official name and to primary sources in their rationale. Both of these arguments were debunked in the previous RM. In view of this and the lack of participation I don't propose to waste time checking the other claims. Ping me again if there is any significant support. Andrewa (talk) 18:22, 28 August 2017 (UTC)Reply
    • Support. Please, dear Andrewa, give me ONE good argument that this article should have an inaccurate name? If you look at the Google results, the proposed name is obviously more common? Do you think we should move FC Barcelona to Barcelona FC, Real Madrid C.F. to FC Real Madrid? // Mattias321 (talk) 19:37, 28 August 2017 (UTC)Reply
  • Support per nom. I don't quite understand the above quarreling, but it's OK as I brought the popcorn with me. This club does not seem to have a common English name, and a significant (take a look at the pages rather than trusting Google's estimates at the top) majority of Swedish news sources, as well as the club's official name, supports the proposed change. • Support It's the correct name. Number 57 20:59, 6 September 2017 (UTC)Reply
