Probably going inactive on Wikipedia edit

Since I pretty much lost the ambition to work on stuff on Wikipedia since @Qed237: "leadership", which have caused a lot of frustration and anger by several ambitious wikipedians, I think I won't feel ambitious to be updating the summary section on 2016 IFK Göteborg season anymore. If you want to keep the summary up and running, since Wikipedia often wants the articles to contain more texts than stats, then it's fine. IF not, you or I should probably delete the section. Thank you. // Psemmler (talk) 00:39, 13 January 2016 (UTC)Reply

Hello, Psemmler! Sorry to hear that you have lost your motivation, you have really been a great asset and help for me with the IFK Göteborg articles, especially since Reckless182 has retired. I'm guessing you're aiming on your discussion with Qed237 about the status of the matches against Estonia and Finland, and I don't think you should be so hard on him, I think he's just trying to to his job here on Wikipedia and he's doing it well. And I will absolutely update 2016 IFK Göteborg season, both stats, text and pictures. Have a nice day! :) // Mattias321 (talk) 15:26, 13 January 2016 (UTC)Reply

Career statistics for 2016 edit

Hello,

I've added & updated career statistics on some Swedish players, for example Kevin Bisse. However, I stopped, because I didn't know if I should add a row for the 2016-season, since the season haven't begun yet and where they're playing for 2016 isn't certain. However, there's a 2016-season on-going around the world, and many career statistics have included numbers for 2016, so I felt that was right from the beginning. But what's your view of it? // Psemmler (talk) 20:56, 14 January 2016 (UTC)Reply

Hello! Glad too see you back att Wikipedia! I think it would be good to add the 2016 season, but only if the player has a confirmed contract with the club during that season! Have a nice weekend! // Mattias321 (talk) 14:16, 15 January 2016 (UTC)Reply
Thank you and you too! That sounds like a good idea! // Psemmler (talk) 18:28, 15 January 2016 (UTC)Reply

Seger / oavgjort idag edit

Hej.

// Mattias321 (talk) 20:59, 4 February 2016 (UTC)Reply
(talk page stalker)Hej.
Qed237 (talk) 23:58, 4 February 2016 (UTC)Reply

Please explain your undos on my edits edit

Good afternoon,

Would you please mind why you undid my two edits on Billy Nordström & Victor Sköld? Firstly, from what I know, there's no agree upon on WP:Football to not include a division tab in your Career Statistics section, in fact - it's favoured to do, which is shown on the biggest football pages such as Cristiano Ronaldo. In my opinion, it's an important information to have on a Career Statistic page. To score 20 goals is easier to do for Östers IF, for an example, when they play in Division 1 rather than Allsvenskan. The second edit that I find wierd was that you also undid my tab for the 2016 season, which we agreed upon on this talk page was okay to do for players that had a contract with the club for the season to come. // Psemmler (talk) 23:22, 20 February 2016 (UTC)Reply

Oh, sorry! I didn't mean to revert them! I was just going to see what you'd changed! I'll fix it! // Mattias321 (talk) 14:01, 21 February 2016 (UTC)Reply
Ah, okay, it's fine, thank you for reverting back! Forza blåvitt idag. // Psemmler (talk) 14:25, 21 February 2016 (UTC)Reply
Forza Blåvitt indeed! :) Mot Futsalguld och seger mot Degerfors! // Mattias321 (talk) 14:42, 21 February 2016 (UTC)Reply
// Psemmler (talk) 18:23, 21 February 2016 (UTC)Reply
Have played in a competitive fixture between two fully professional clubs in a domestic, Continental or Intercontinental club competition.

// Psemmler (talk) 17:35, 27 February 2016 (UTC)Reply

2016–17 UEFA Europa League edit

Hi, hope you dont mind that I reverted your changes on 2016–17 UEFA Europa League where you removed the greek cup. Since nothing official has been released on how things will change, I added a note instead and I hope that was okay. Qed237 (talk) 22:13, 3 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

re:Referees and cities edit

Hi. Sorry, I know I should be better on using edit summaries. Sometimes I am simply to lazy. Regarding the referees and cities, I usually link to the association they come from. In a European competition like CL or nationalteam match they represent a nation, such as Swedish Football Association, and in domestic matches they represent regional associations like West Riding County Football Association for referee Jon Moss in 2015 FA Cup Final. I have never myself used a link to just a city as I have not seen any reason for it, but I see now that is has been done before in Svenska Cupen for some reason. From what I have seen in those cup that has this extra information they often only uses it in final matches and then use regional associations (in sweden they are listed in Swedish Football Association#District Football Associations), but if you feel like we should use city it is definately not something I would argue over as it has been done before. It does not matter to me and I have never seen any discussion about it. Qed237 (talk) 12:45, 13 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

// Psemmler (talk) 00:14, 18 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

Hej, @Psemmler! Trevlig helg! :) // Mattias321 (talk) 14:40, 18 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

Hello SLBedit! Yes, he still CAN play for Brazil, but after the 2014 FIFA World Cup, he stated that his international career was over. He hasn't been called up since then, so I think we can see that his Brazil career has ended. // Mattias321 (talk) 09:54, 3 June 2016 (UTC)tReply

Hello Kurdistantolive! I can see that he is in the Iraq national team at the moment, but he hasn't played any matches for them yet. The latest international game he played was for the Swedish U19 team and thus the flag should be Swedish. All according to Wikipedia praxis. // Mattias321 (talk) 15:40, 19 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

Notability edit

Regarding your comment at this edit, neither Jonathan Lundberg nor Sebastian Ring have articles on the Swedish project, but there could be several reasons for this. WP:NFOOTBALL is the English project's guideline for notability. Have the players played in a fully professional league? If so, they deserve an article. You may want to follow the process at Wikipedia:Articles for creation. Walter Görlitz (talk) 13:52, 13 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

Hello Walter Görlitz! Both of them have played in Allsvenskan which is considered a notable league (Lundberg, Ring). Here can you find a list of all Allsvenskan players that should have an article. Cheers! // Mattias321 (talk) 20:59, 4 February 2016 (UTC) 14:55, 13 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

Invite to the African Destubathon edit

Hi. You may be interested in participating in the African Destubathon which starts on October 15. Africa currently has over 37,000 stubs and badly needs a quality improvement editathon/contest to flesh out basic stubs. There are proposed substantial prizes to give to editors who do the most articles, and planned smaller prizes for doing to most destubs for each of the 53 African countries, so should be enjoyable! So it would be a good chance to win something for improving stubs on African sportspeople, including footballers, athletes, Olympians and Paralympians etc, particularly female ones, but also male. Even if contests aren't your thing we would be grateful if you could consider destubbing a few African articles during the drive to help the cause and help reduce the massive 37,000 + stub count, of which many are rated high importance (think Regions of countries etc). If you're interested in competing or just loosely contributing a few expanded articles on African Paralympians, Olympians and committees etc, please add your name to the Contestants/participants section. Diversity of work from a lot of people will make this that bit more special. Thanks. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 21:13, 6 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

Notability in football edit

If they're notable, that will be demonstrated when they have an article (see Wikipedia:NFOOTBALL). If they are not, placing a hidden comment is not going to make them notable. In other words, shut me up by writing the article not placing a comment. Walter Görlitz (talk) 14:35, 24 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

Walter Görlitz, they have both played in Allsvenskan and that makes them notable according to WP:NFOOTBALL. I will create the page when I have time, but I actually don't see any problems with placing a hidden comment as a reminder. It's not bothering anybody, does it? But if it makes you happy I won't do it. ;) // Mattias321 (talk) 14:51, 24 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. You appear to be repeatedly reverting or undoing other editors' contributions at Örebro SK. Although this may seem necessary to protect your preferred version of a page, on Wikipedia this is known as "edit warring" and is usually seen as obstructing the normal editing process, as it often creates animosity between editors. Instead of reverting, please discuss the situation with the editor(s) involved and try to reach a consensus on the talk page.

If editors continue to revert to their preferred version they are likely to be blocked from editing Wikipedia. This isn't done to punish an editor, but to prevent the disruption caused by edit warring. In particular, editors should be aware of the three-revert rule, which says that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Edit warring on Wikipedia is not acceptable in any amount, and violating the three-revert rule is very likely to lead to a block.

This is just a formality. I don't disagree with the change, as long as it's made at the player article (and it sticks there) as I was reverted there as well. WP:BRD either on the player page or the team article and gain consensus.

For the record, you are at three reverts now and so am I. Walter Görlitz (talk) 18:44, 23 June 2017 (UTC)Reply

Stats in football players' infoboxes edit

Hello, I'm Jaellee. Welcome to Wikipedia! I just wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to Alexander Farnerud were not quite right. When updating statistics within the infobox of a footballer, please make sure you update the timestamp at the same time, so that both readers and fellow editors know when the information was last updated.

You can do this by replacing the existing timestamp within the |club-update= or |pcupdate= parameter for club stats, or the |nationalteam-update= or |ntupdate= parameter for international stats. For articles that use a DMY date format, use five tildes (~~~~~), or for MDY dates, use {{subst:mdytime}}. This will generate the specific time the update was made.

If you have any questions about this, feel free to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you, --Jaellee (talk) 14:13, 21 April 2019 (UTC)Reply

@Nehme1499: If you look at the sources in the article, it's very clear that he does NOT fail WP:NFOOTY. He has played a game in Svenska Cupen between Allsvenskan teams IFK Göteborg and IK Sirius. And, because "players who have played in a competitive game between two teams from fully professional leagues will generally be regarded as notable", this article should not be deleted. // Mattias321 (talk) 17:46, 7 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Egghead06 (talk) 11:59, 13 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

Please do not add or change content, as you did at Sead Hakšabanović, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Needs a verifiable source in the article. DEFAULTSORT space missing edit

Hey, I've been doing some WP:WCW work and several new articles you've created have had this issue. There should be a space after the comma in DEFAULTSORT. It makes it function incorrectly without the space. Jerod Lycett (talk) 16:02, 7 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

Piping edit

There is no convention for Swedish clubs in the same way as there is with German clubs (WP:KARLSRUHER), so please stop removing piped links. GiantSnowman 10:32, 26 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

Norrköping edit

Hi there. I don't really mind whether we pipe "IFK Norrköping" or not. But IFK Norrköping currently states "Idrottsföreningen Kamraterna Norrköping, more commonly known as IFK Norrköping or simply Norrköping"… That lead me to assume piping to "Norrköping" is okay. Jonteemil, the national team career always spans from the first to the last cap in the infobox. It doesn't matter if the player in question retired from the national team and later returned. For example, even though Henrik Larsson retired from the national team in 2002, 2003 and 2006, his total Sweden career was between 1993 and 2009. // Mattias321 (talk) 13:58, 29 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

Not sure, but that's nonetheless how everyone writes it. Ask at WP:WikiProject Football if your curious. // Mattias321 (talk) 12:07, 3 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

Women's team edit

Hallå Mattias! I know you do a lot of work on Sweden national football team, but is there any chance you could have a look at Sweden women's national football team if you find yourself having some extra time at some point? IP's there have been attempting to seemingly update the squad but have been struggling with the templates, I had a quick look at it but couldn't figure out why their edits made it come out the way it did. I ask you because I know you are experienced with working with these templates and types of articles. Thanks in advance. --TylerBurden (talk) 18:49, 5 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hi @TylerBurden! Sorry for the late response. I have prioritized Sweden and Sweden U21 since these are the national teams that I follow the most, but I can definitely take a look at the women's team as well! I might not have the time to go through the entire article, but I can at least update the squad. // Mattias321 (talk) 13:48, 4 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
Yea that's perfectly understandable, sorting out the squad would be great and more than enough as that seems to have been the main issue lately on that article. I appreciate it and no rush, you can do it whenever you have time to. TylerBurden (talk) 14:48, 5 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

Ways to improve Hussein Carneil edit

Hello, Mattias321,

Thank you for creating Hussein Carneil.

I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:

What is needed are references from significant coverage about this player, and not their own words; in multiple secondary sources which are WP:RS; that is your guide. Lists, Team rosters, pages listing matches and results, databases, Instagram, Facebook and Soccerway - none of these are reliable sources. (There have been changes to the notability guide for sports - see WP:NSPORT ) You may also read WP:PRIMARY which details the limited permitted usage of primary sources. A more comprehensive guide is WP:SOURCES ... Providing sufficient references, ideally giving more information about this player, that meet these criteria is likely to allow this article to remain. Lack of them or an inability to find them is likely to mean that this article is not suitable for inclusion.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Whiteguru}}. Remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. For broader editing help, please visit the Teahouse.

Delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.

Proposed deletion of Tim van Assema edit

The article Tim van Assema has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Is now an amateur footballer at Tvååkers IF, only played 24 minutes professionally, lack of GNG sources

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.

This bot DID NOT nominate any of your contributions for deletion; please refer to the history of each individual page for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 10:00, 16 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

Alexander Tengryd moved to draftspace edit

An article you recently created, Alexander Tengryd, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more in-depth coverage about the subject itself, with citations from reliable, independent sources in order to show it meets WP:GNG. It should have at least three, to be safe. And please remember that interviews, as primary sources, do not count towards GNG.(?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.Onel5969 TT me 12:04, 17 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

William Lundin moved to draftspace edit

An article you recently created, William Lundin, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) WP:NFOOTY is no longer a valid SNG, so GNG must be met. It needs several refs from independent, reliable, secondary sources to pass WP:GNG. It should have at least 3 of those. Please remember that routine sports coverage does not satisfy GNG, and that interviews, being primary sources, do not go to notability either. Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia).
