van Salee surname

I am curious as to who the ancestor of the van Salee family of New York is as all children of Anthony Janszoon van Salee listed are daughters. RichardBond (talk) 12:04, 20 December 2010 (UTC)

Thomas Southard husband of Annica

There is absolutely no evidence at this time that Thomas Southard was born Thomas Southworth or is any way related to Constant Southworth or any of the Southworths of Plymouth Colony. There is only circumstantial evidence due to the fact that Thomas Southard and the Southworths of Plymouth Colony both resided for a time in Leyden, Holland where there was an enclave of English pilgrims who would later come to the Plymouth Colony. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.99.28.223 (talk) 11:17, 26 May 2011 (UTC)

Van Salee Quran

I've had troubled finding the exact year it was sold in the 1890s, or primary sources that describe the sale. Also, some sources say it disappeared in the 1920s, but haven't been able to pin that down either.--Pharos (talk) 15:30, 23 July 2021 (UTC)

After some research, I've now clarified the Quran was noted in the 1886 estate sale of Joachim Rule, who was a relative of Robert Bayles. Bayles seems to have also been present at the sale, and acquired another family heirloom, but not the Quran itself.--Pharos (talk) 01:00, 24 July 2021 (UTC)

This seems highly unlikely, and there doesn't appear to be mention of it in any primary sources, nor in any recent secondary ones.
