Vulture

edit

Perhaps this source could be worked into the article (Vulture):

"Take “Alejandro”; an Ace of Base-by-way-of-Cabaret belter that reduces queer men in the pit to tears. It’s a song about infidelity, engorged with innuendo. The line 'don’t want to kiss, don’t want to touch/Just smoke my cigarette and hush' is a reminder that Gaga was so daring in her forthright sex positivity that the public doubted she was female." Music video

edit

Would it be beneficial to separate the music video into its own article á la "We Found Love"? I only ask because information on the music video takes up a substantial amount of the article and there appears to be enough coverage on it for it to be considered notable on its own. Aoba47 (talk) 00:05, 10 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

The article's overall size is still very much manageable. That said, I would first like to see how much we’re left with after I do some reworking of reception and religion subsections to make them more concise. FrB.TG (talk) 05:49, 10 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
That is understandable. Thank you for the response. I thought about it while reading the article so I wanted to see if this was a question others had as well and have a discussion on it. Best of luck with your work on it! Aoba47 (talk) 15:33, 10 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
I think this one is fine having its own biggish music video section in this article only :) —IB [ Poke ] 19:28, 10 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

Monster Ball performance

edit

@Sricsi is there an image of Monster Ball which shows Gaga in front of the Fountain? That might be a more suitable image seeing as the fountain was a crucial piece of prop she used. —IB [ Poke ] 17:38, 11 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

@IndianBio this one: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:The_Monster_Ball_-_Alejandro_revamped2.jpg . Feel free to replace it, if you think it's more suitable. --Sricsi (talk) 17:49, 11 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
@Sricsi appreciated as always. @FrB.TG what do you think of the above image for Monster Ball Tour? I didn't want to replace it without your feedback since you are expanding it for FAC. —IB [ Poke ] 17:51, 11 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
Go for it :) FrB.TG (talk) 18:36, 11 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
Added it. I would also like to understand what is File:Lady Gaga JWT Alejandro, 2018-01-31 (cropped).jpg contributing to the live performance section? Gaga standing and singing the song does not enhance anything does it? Should we just remove it? None of the other performances of "Alejandro" than the Monster Ball and American Idol has any significant imagery needing impact IMHO. —IB [ Poke ] 18:17, 12 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
Maybe add to the Joanne Tour image that it is her final headlining tour to date where she performed the song? FrB.TG (talk) 08:40, 13 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
Hmmm, isn't that a very much WP:RECENT? Gaga is not deceased, nor she has plans to stop releasing music or touring. —IB [ Poke ] 20:08, 13 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

I meant it’s the final one where she performed this song. It was honestly a little surprising given how much success this song had. That she will be releasing more music is all the more reason she will no longer perform this song as she will have more new material and will have to remove the old ones. But maybe you’re right; it probably does border on recent-ism. Who knows she might bring it back on her future tours even if she most likely has more new hits to perform. FrB.TG (talk) 09:17, 14 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

I'd keep that image. This is the only song she performed in this look on the Joanne Tour. She was wearing a black jacket with leather fringe, which she took off just before "Alejandro" started, then after "Alejandro" she disappeared for another costume-change. --Sricsi (talk) 16:07, 14 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
I will leave it, but if its opposed on FAC, we will remove. I hear what you are saying Sricsi, but contextually Gaga's costume for this one does not have much depth to warrant this picture. I'm trying to draw parallels, like when she did "Telephone" (a song released same time as "Alejandro") on Chromatica Ball, one of things to notice the vast usage of pyrotechnics and there was lot of notes in media related to those songs where the fire was spouting. This one, I really cannot remember anything at all, and I watched and loved Joanne World Tour. —IB [ Poke ] 18:05, 15 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

FAC

edit

@IndianBio and Sricsi: after adding a commentary by Katrin Horn, checking/formatting the references and giving it a final read-through, I am thinking of giving it a try at FAC. This looks pretty decent IMO. What are your thoughts on this? Does it need any more work? FrB.TG (talk) 13:50, 16 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

@FrB.TG: Seems great to me. If there are any flaws, they should be minor, and can be fixed during the FAC process. --Sricsi (talk) 22:10, 16 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
Go for it @FrB.TG! —IB [ Poke ] 11:04, 18 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
