"a state of prolonged public dispute or debate, usually concerning a matter of conflicting opinion or point of view" which falls under neither. as the exercise takes place in International Waters. CharlesViBritannia (talk) 05:48, 30 January 2022 (UTC)Reply
The controversy concerned it originally taking place in the exclusive economic zone of Ireland, even though it was in international waters. Also, it was in fishing grounds used by Irish fishing fleets. Given the context of the situation in Ukraine, it might also be seen as sabre-rattling. Autarch (talk) 10:42, 2 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

Is there any source that confirms that the ambassador is the former athlete recently linked to in the article? Autarch (talk) 20:22, 30 January 2022 (UTC)Reply
This item names the ambassador "Yury Anatoliyevich Filatov", but the former athlete is named "Yuri Nikolayevich Filatov" - clearly they are not the same. Autarch (talk) 15:20, 3 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
