When I started creating this article, I was fully aware that the subject didn't meet WP:FOOTY/Notability. Since the Faroe Islands Premier League is not a fully professional league, and Cieslewicz has not represented any country at international level that seems to be the case. On the other hand WP:FOOTY/Notability clearly states that a player could be considered notable and deserve an article, even if he doesn't meet the four criteria of WPFOOTY.
I strongly believe that this is the case when it comes to Łukasz Cieślewicz, as IMHO he meets WP:GNG. Since the player is among the best players in the Faroe Islands he has extensive coverage by reliable sources on the islands. The top news portals of the islands (in.fo and portal.fo) have hundreds of detailed articles about him. Furthermore he has received extensive coverage by media in his native Poland (many sources were used in the creation of the article itself). Bold.dk, which is the most popular sports website in Denmark, has over 20 reports about him (here); other Danish websites has covered Cieślewicz as well. He has also received coverage by international media like BBC (here), and from UEFA's website (here). All of the previous sources are reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject. Additionally they offer non-trivial detailed coverage on the subject. Combining these, in my opinion, we can safely assume that the subject can be considered notable per WP:GNG. PS. I created this note to save the community some time from a possible AfD discussion. Hansi667(Neighbor Of The Beast)a penny for your thoughts?17:55, 1 December 2015 (UTC)Reply
Thanks a lot for creating this article! It is very well written and well documented with references in at least four different languages. I agree that he is notable and deserves an article in the English language Wikipedia. --EileenSanda (talk) 19:21, 1 December 2015 (UTC)Reply
