There seems to be a lot of references to retro media, with some anti-establishment undertones, which in itself is a retrospective stand taken in a lot of 90's pop culture. The current state of the world of the game is one based in a dystopian future, where the rules established have been diminished enough to allow monopolies to thrive with no resistance. VOSS Turbo is a commentary, which points out the dangers of allowing corporate greed to deteriorate the morality of systems that we rely on to live. Showing an extreme, but comical case of how a capitalist society can easily turn into a dictatorship if corporate entities have a hand in running the systems that we depend upon.

What does VOSS mean?

The title name VOSS is an acronym made at the expense of the premise of the game, meaning very original space shooter, and Turbo being a nonsensical subtitle used in many arcade titles in the 80's and 90's. VOSS Turbo pulls from many retro sources, and is in no way original, and proudly so.
