Maulana Fath Muhammad Jalandhri (Urdu: فتح محمد جالندھری) is a well known Islamic scholar of the sub-continent.[1]
Life
editHis father migrated from Afghanistan and settled first in Rampur and then in Punjab. Maulana belonged to the Yusufzai tribe of Rohillas. Maulana Jalandhri was born in 1864 in Tanda, District Hoshiarpur. Your father Shah Muhammad Khan worked in Jalandhar, so you were also brought up in Jalandhar. Very little information is available about the personal life of Maulana Moosuf. Famous poet Hafeez Jalandhri has also admitted this. "I tried to provide your situation but I failed because even in Jalandhar, which is my homeland, there are very few people who know your personal situation." [2]

editThe big press Attar Chand & Kapur Sons commissioned Maulana Jalandhri to publish Urdu, Persian grammar books for primary, middle and higher levels which were considered as standard books. One of his books was 'Mabadi Al-Qasa' (Introductory Book of Urdu Rules) which at that time was included by the Punjab Education Department as a syllabus for upper primary classes. Maulana's other book 'Afzal Al-Qasa' which contained Urdu rules was also included in the curriculum of primary schools. Maulana's third book 'Musbah Al-Qasa' became quite popular, another book 'Minhaj Al-Qasa' was included in the entrance syllabus of Punjab University. This gives the knowledge of Maulana's knowledge of Urdu language and rules. Apart from this, among the books authored by Maulana on theology, Irshadat Al-Qur'an, Al-Islam, Nafais al-Qasas wal-Hikayat, Al-Iyaqut Al-Murjan, Nafis Gehawa, etc. are worth mentioning.
Translation of Quran
editMaulana Fateh Mohammad Jalandhri's most important service is his translation Quran. Maulana's translation of the Qur'an was first published in 1900 from Amritsar under the name of 'Fath Al Hameed'.

[3] Maulana was not associated with any jurisprudential, theological group, so his translation of the Qur'an is equally popular and common among all Muslims. Regarding the reason for the translation of the Quran, Maulana has written in the preface: "I never had the idea of translating the Holy Quran as soon as possible, but since this blessing was written in my destiny, therefore the words Al-Qur'an and Nafais al-Qasas wal-Hikayat were to be published, so the eloquent Ahl al-Zoq asked for the translation of the entire Qur'an.
Regarding his translation, Maulana Jalandhri writes:
We assure all those who are fond of Shah Sahib's translation that we have made it so easy, smooth and idiomatic that in terms of language, whatever qualities can be translated.

I must be they are all in it. It should be understood that if Shah Sahib's translation is the nuggets of an Egyptian, then this translation is a sip of syrup. Very easy, quick to understand to read and understand. Language changes over time. For this reason, Dawah Academy International Islamic University has reprinted this translation by making it more simple, smooth and idiomatic. Radio Pakistan chose it as their translation and when Saut al-Qur'an was launched, it was the same translation chosen for it.

editAccording to historical evidence, you have completed this translation by Deputy Nazir Ahmad translation of the Quran. This translation of Fateh Mohammad Jalandhri is hidden in post-independence Pakistan under the name of 'Noor-e Hidayat' without Arabic text. Shah Abdul Qadir has added footnotes from the Qur'an expounded in it. Maulana is meticulous about his translation of the Quran. "What has been tried most in this translation is to make it easy, smooth and idiomatic, and with it, the demands of the Qur'an are correctly fulfilled. The truth is that the Holy Qur'an is clean, elegant and subtle. And to translate Shireen and Dilnishin and Aala and Auli is to bring the lion's gamble and I have tried to translate it as much as I could. The language has been adopted in such a way that it is worthy of praise. In terms of health, if this translation is tested by reliable interpretations, then it will be seen as polished gold. We assure all those who are fond of the translation of the Shah that the method adopted in this translation is the skill of the current language, all the qualities that should be in the translation are present in it. Maulana Jalandhri has done this translation of the Qur'an in smooth, simple and common sense Urdu language according to the public mind. He has used more Arabic and Persian words in Urdu than Hindi and Sanskrit. This is the reason why this Translation of the Qur'an has been considered the most famous translation of the Qur'an since its time until today. Scholars have highly appreciated this translation. The views of a few are being quoted here. Maulana Mufti Kafayatullah President Jamiat Ulama Hind Delhi has written.
"The competent translator has followed the religion of the Salaf-e-Saliheen in interpreting the meaning of the Holy Quran and despite making the translation idiomatic, meaningful, and common sense, he has kept full respect for the words of the Qur'an and for the purpose of exegesis, he has added passages between parentheses. What is avoided as much as possible; Therefore, this translation has a distinguished status in terms of its merits. The sophistication, smoothness and accuracy of the language in this translation are not found in others. The amount of effort the author has put in making it idiomatic and meaningful, he has put more effort into its health, that is, every single word is reliable and authentic.
