Due to COVID-19 cross-border restrictions imposed by the Canadian government, Toronto FC, along with the two other Canadian MLS teams (CF Montréal and the Vancouver Whitecaps), played in the United States at the beginning of the season while also sharing stadiums with other American MLS teams. From April 17 until July 16, Toronto FC played home matches at Orlando City SC's Exploria Stadium in Orlando, Florida.[2][3] On July 14, MLS announced that Toronto FC were allowed to play two home matches on July 17 and the 21 although they will continue to work with the Canadian Government regarding plans on future home matches.[4][5]

NotesEdit

  1. ^ As a result of COVID-19 cross-border restrictions imposed by the Canadian government, Toronto FC is temporarily playing in home matches at Exploria Stadium in Orlando, Florida.[1]
  2. ^ Lawrence holds a U.S. Green Card, so he counts as a domestic player for MLS purposes.[7]
