Antisemitism in the UK Conservative Party
I am not sure that this is the correct place to post this (if not I would appreciate a pointer towards where is) but Antisemitism in the UK Conservative Party is currently being very actively edited, with proposals for splits, serious trimming, sections removed and lists being turned into prose on the talk page from February. Given this and the potential sensitivity, I thought that I would flag it up for advice before treating it as a "normal" copy edit. Thanks. Gog the Mild (talk) 15:46, 15 March 2019 (UTC)
- @Gog the Mild: this talk page is pretty much for stuff that affects all of our drives (e.g.: instructions, templates, procedures). The typical forum regarding articles on a drive would be the current drive talk page, Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Guild of Copy Editors/Backlog elimination drives/March 2019. (Oh, I see, that page hasn't been created yet as I write this, but don't let that scare you.) In a case like this, when it is inappropriate to copy edit an article at this time, the typical thing to do would be to add {{GOCEreviewed}} with an appropriate
|issues=
statement on the article's talk page. It should be placed with the article history banners following the WikiProject banners (more at WP:TALKLAYOUT). Also remove the copy edit tag(s) from the article. When those issues are dealt with, it can be tagged for copy edit again. – Reidgreg (talk) 01:30, 16 March 2019 (UTC)- Thanks. Done. Archive this page?
I noticed that this page has like 40 threads on it, most of which aren't active. (I would even go to say all, since the page was last edited on 13:37, 16 March, and that discussion is practically closed.) Could somebody make an archive or, even better, make a bot archive system for this talk page? (It's 87,013 bytes already!) Thanks in advance, Ben79487 (talk contribs) 01:36, 19 March 2019 (UTC)
- Although 40 threads isn't that bad (I get annoyed when TPs have over 100 :-), the byte count indicates that it's time to archive; thanks for checking that. It's been ages since I set up archiving (on my TP), so after I take a refresher course – and get some sleep – I'll look into it. If anyone wants to beat me to it, that's fine! All the best, Miniapolis 02:22, 19 March 2019 (UTC)
- I set up one manual archive and also set up bot archiving for the future, assuming that I did everything right. If I did it right, a couple of sections should be archived by the bot soon. – Jonesey95 (talk) 05:48, 19 March 2019 (UTC)
- @Miniapolis and Jonesey95: Thanks! And lots of stuff has been archived now. – Ben79487 (talk contribs) 05:41, 23 March 2019 (UTC)
