Death of Awaab Ishak

Currently, all information relating to the death of Awaab Ishak is on a subsection of Rochdale Boroughwide Housing. I have expanded the information on this page in preparation for a spinout article, but would appreciate any comments from UK editors or other editors interested in UK issues. Thank you. Image donation from the Royal Albert Memorial Museum

Hello everyone. Last month the Royal Albert Memorial Museum approached Wikimedia UK for help sharing images. As part of our Connected Heritage project we're helping cultural heritage professionals improve their digital skills and share content on Wikimedia sites. Yesterday, RAMM and WMUK worked together to share a few dozen public domain images from their collection, uploaded using Pattypan.

They are mostly of Exeter, with some paintings of historical events (such as the 1880 general election) and from notable people, like Olive Wharry. You can see the rest of the 67 on Commons. Any help adding images to articles would be gratefully received, we're hoping to use this upload to convince other museums in the region to share images, but mostly I wanted to mention it here because it's nice to see a museum sharing their images. Quick help needed!

Hello! On this note: Martin Conway, 1st Baron Conway of Allington#cite note-12, the "column" parameter should be added, but I don't have access to the archives to see which column it is in. Could someone check and add it? Thanks! BhamBoi (talk) 00:20, 30 April 2023 (UTC)

Prince Charles or Charles III??

On Wikipedia, when referring to Charles III before he became king, should he be referred to as Charles III or Prince Charles, because a lot of articles still refer to him as "Prince Charles" and on today's featured article, I changed "Prince Charles" to "Charles III" but it got changed back. What about "Charles III, when Prince Charles"?--Bduke (talk) 11:41, 17 May 2023 (UTC)
do you mean "Charles III, then Prince Charles" GoldenBootWizard276 (talk) 11:46, 17 May 2023 (UTC)
Possibly the query is inspired by my decision for today's TFA blurb? I write a lot of history articles and it is accepted that figures are referred to by the title they held at the time being referred to - possibly with a parenthetical or foot note. Given how recent Charles' elevation was it seemed worth adding the in line mention - "formally opened by the then Prince Charles". Reconsidering, it still seems a sensible approach, in context. I think Charles III, then Prince of Wales is best. GoldenBootWizard276 (talk) 16:14, 17 May 2023 (UTC)
@GoldenBootWizard276: You posted the exact same question at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject United Kingdom#Prince Charles or Charles III??, please observe WP:MULTI. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 21:31, 17 May 2023 (UTC)

Seeking nominations for the UK Wikimedian of the Year Awards

The annual UK Wikimedian of the Year Awards recognise the efforts of the community that supports Wikimedia UK and helps us in our work.

There are three categories: Wikimedian of the Year, Partnership of the Year, and Up and Coming Wikimedian of the Year. Details of each category are on our website: https://wikimedia.org.uk/wiki/UK_Wikimedian_of_the_Year_2023

We are seeking nominations, and the form is linked to from our website. So if there is someone whose work you’d like to recognise, or a particular partnership, please nominate them. You can nominate in one category or all of them. It is helpful to make the nominating statements at least a few sentences long.

We will announce the winners at the online community day that we have planned for late November. Richard Nevell (WMUK) (talk) 16:08, 20 October 2023 (UTC)
