World Security Network Foundation

The article has been deleted "speedily" without discussion yesterday. The arguments given for deletion were that the article would (a) include publicity, that it might (b) violate copyrights and/or that it (c) might not meet Wikipedia's inclusion criteria. I would like to discuss these points. As to (a): This is partially correct. The tone of the article was very positive, which however seems to be due to the subject matter. The WSNF is a non-profit organization aiming at promoting peace, international cooperation as well as tolerance and respect among different cultures and religions. It is not so easy to write critically about this. However, the article can be improved in this respect to include less of the organisation's own ideas. As to (b): The copyright objection hasn't been specified. I think it is unsubstantiated. As to (c): The WSNF is an international non-profit NGO operating in more than 30 countries since 11 years. Its online media reach severeal 100.000 recipients, most of them multipliers. So I think the World Security Network Foundation is notable for Wikipedia both as an NGO and as a medium. -DownUnder36 (talk) 08:01, 12 June 2013 (UTC)

Not done. The copyright issue was with the previous (2009) version, not this one; but see Wikipedia is not here to tell the world about your noble cause. Being a Noble Cause does not exempt an organization from the notability requirement to show references to significant coverage in reliable, independent secondary sources. Your references are only to the WSN's own publications; you need to show that people independent of it have thought it important enough to write substantial comment about. Also, your article reads very much as the WSN telling the world about itself - see User:JohnCD/Not a noticeboard. Think hard about notability, and read WP:N, WP:CORP, WP:BFAQ. If you think you can show notability, I will "userfy" the article for you - undelete it into a sub-page in your user space where you can work on it. JohnCD (talk) 10:28, 12 June 2013 (UTC)

Young Boys Haarlem

The article was deleted by User:Jimfbleak, who only stated that A7 was applicable. I, however, think that the article meets/meeted the notability standards for clubs. The scope of their activities was national in scale: the club played in the Saturday Hoofdklasse A, a national football league in the Netherlands. Also, information about the club and its activities can be verified by multiple, third-party, independent, reliable sources. If necessary, I will edit the page and add more of those sources.

I initially created the page because the club had (and again has a red link on the 2011-12 Hoofdklasse page. I also made pages for the other clubs and none of them were nominated for deletion. Young Boys Haarlem was declared bankrupt in 2012, but that is no valid argument for deletion, as per Wikipedia:DEFUNCTS. -Dnarbys (talk) 08:51, 12 June 2013 (UTC)

Stivasoft

There is no advertising since this article has been written by example of one that has been accepted -- if this page has been deleted, so why other pages which I can specially point you are not. There is a lot of resources and references to be added . I followed the instruction and actually have an example of an article that had been accepted before. Administrators are unconsistent with their nominations. Point exactly where advertising and promotional language has been used in the article, because I do not agree with the deletion, language is neutral and based on facts and company events... -Gadelichka (talk) 07:00, 13 June 2013 (UTC)

  • Stivasoft has never existed, however I am checking out StivaSoft. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 11:03, 13 June 2013 (UTC)
  •   Not done Using terms like "unique" "new concept" "premium project" "add value" and "Visit the official company website" sounds promotional. However about half of it was fairly neutrally written. I would suggest that you make a Userspace draft instead and get it cleared of advertising before entering article space. Stivasoft Hotel Booking Software Review was pure promotion, so your edits do seem to be improving. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 11:08, 13 June 2013 (UTC)

This page was speedily deleted on grounds A7, no explanation of importance, but the article clearly stated that he was a deputy on the provincial council in Salta in Argentina for 8 years, and will be a candidate in the national elections later this year. -PatGallacher (talk) 15:42, 13 June 2013 (UTC)

Not done Neither of those appear to meet the notability requriements as per WP:POLITICIAN, so A7 appears to be appropriate (✉→BWilkins←✎) 11:03, 14 June 2013 (UTC)
Actually, I quote WP:POLITICIAN: "Politicians and judges who have held international, national or sub-national (statewide/provincewide) office, and members or former members of a national, state or provincial legislature." As an ex-member of a provincial legislature he is inherently notable. Also, speedy deletion criterion A7 is not quite the same as notability. PatGallacher (talk) 13:32, 14 June 2013 (UTC)

Araucana

On the 7th May this year, I edited the Araucana chicken details on Wikipedia regarding the genetics of Blue Egg production. This new information was the result of 3 years of experimental breeding. A relevant article on this topic has been accepted by the Araucana breeders Group of Australia. I can send you the article if you advise me what is the best way to forward it. My edit on Wikipedia was deleted, Could you tell me what to do now. I write extensively around the world on bird genetics, mostly on budgerigar genetics and have never encountered this problem before.

Not done as the article is not deleted. Don, unfortunately we do not typically accept original research. The I would hate to suggest that the Araucana Breeders Group would be considered to be an accepted scientific organization, as would be required to support scientific claims. That said, the Reliable Sources Noticeboard would be the best place to discuss the strength of any potential reliable source. As well, ALL edits to Wikipedia required consensus - if yours were removed due to lack of sourcing/original research, that can be understood - however, as per WP:BRD, you should try and discuss potential changes on the talkpage of the article - that is how this project functions. In the end, your genetics additions may not be accepted - so be it; I have, after all, had hundreds of edits and a half-dozen articles deleted. (✉→BWilkins←✎) 09:16, 17 June 2013 (UTC)

Not done. On inspection, this is largely a copyright violation from sites like Elect-MD-Alam-to-the-MIssouri-Secretary-of-State and MD Alam for KCMO District-6 At-Large - Standing against Crime & Creating a Safe Community. Wikipedia cannot hold copyrighted material unless a formal copyright release is made as described at WP:Donating copyrighted materials. That would not be worth doing in this case, because the material is far too promotional in tone for an encyclopedia article, which requires a neutral point of view. Wikipedia is not a soapbox or means of promotion and is certainly not a place to post copies of "Vote-for-ME!" election material. DANiiVORY

Apparently, this was one of a series of PRODs across multiple musicians.

    • 2013-06-16T22:58:54DANiiVORY (talk · edit · hist) PRODed by Vividdreams93 (t · c) was deleted
    • The reason given for deletion was "Not a notable figure. A search brings up nothing but social media links." Heck, since her international tour with 2NE1, she even has a Korean fan club! That only makes her more notable (Wikipedia:Notability (music)#Criteria for musicians and ensembles item 4).
    • Notability was clearly detailed on the Talk page, should have been self-evident by the references section.
    • There are ample 3rd party citations and newspaper articles, all with inline citations.
    • This musician has been in multiple notable bands, and in bands with 2 or more notable musicians, and on major television (most recently Beyonce, Super Bowl and world tour). See Wikipedia:Notability (music)#Criteria for musicians and ensembles items 6 and 10.
    • And a simple search for "theresa flaminio"+"Imagine Dragons" (a tour she was on for only ~7 months) yields 742 hits: several newspaper articles, numerous band interviews and tour date announcements, and concert videos by an independent producer.
    • As to "theresa flaminio"+"Cee Lo Green" (an extensive and well-reported international tour), there's just too much to detail here: 14,400 results. And those Saturday Night Live et alia TV performances are yet another qualification for notability (section 10 cited above).
-William Allen Simpson (talk) 00:02, 19 June 2013 (UTC)

On this wiki there's a description with references from one of the very few successful, certified and quality bicycle manufacturers that is not made in China (like all other 99% of bicycle manufacturers) that is available and mostly unknown to many bicycle riders in the U.S. and worldwide; no copyrights or policies violations have been intended when writing this content if corrections must be made I request help, since my expertise and time are limited. The Proposed deletion of Órbita Bicycles was in effect when I have made some changes to cover it's faults by adding references and it's verifiable information at this time a Speedy deletion nomination of User:SamNos was present and with no real credentials for it to be taken... Please review my Órbita Bicycles page and provide me help on how to inform people about a 42 year old reputable bicycle manufacturer. -Nosimo (talk) 12:59, 13 June 2013 (UTC)

  •   Not done I think this request has been ignored because the deleted article looked promotional. And you also asked for help. The topic may be notable, but the article has to be written in a way that does not make the bicycles and manufacturer sound great. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 22:08, 20 June 2013 (UTC)

Fie:Titanic (1953).jpg

It came from the Italian Wikipedia. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Manvs.Food (talkcontribs) 16:31, 20 June 2013 (UTC)

  •   Not done This is a derivative image (screenshot of a file) and the license is with the original rights holder for the film. A PD tag is therefore incorrect and this is a non-free image being used incorrectly with no FUR. Sorry but this can't be undeleted. Spartaz Humbug! 17:42, 20 June 2013 (UTC)
(edit conflict) You uploaded it as "Public domain", but being on Italian Wikipedia does not make it PD, and from the notices at it:File:Titanic_(1953).jpg it evidently is not. If it is to be used here, you must supply a Non-free use rationale to show that it complies with WP:NFCC. JohnCD (talk) 17:44, 20 June 2013 (UTC)

List of Degrassi episodes (disambiguation)

There are three Degrassi series, things like Degrassi (season 1) need to go to a disambiguation page. This page was deleted without discussion as "uncontroversial maintenance". -117Avenue (talk) 06:35, 13 June 2013 (UTC)

  •   Not done Because no one thinks it is worth restoring. The content you wrote has this:
List of Degrassi episodes is a list of episodes of Degrassi Junior High and Degrassi High episodes.
List of Degrassi episodes may also refer to:
* List of Degrassi: The Next Generation episodes
The Deletion reason includes: orphan dab whose navigation function is served by a hatnote on the base name article. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 13:46, 21 June 2013 (UTC)
That is not the complete contents of the page, and it is a orphan because the links were removed so that is could be deleted. If you would like more information on why the page was created, we can discuss it on its talk, or a proper deletion discussion. Thanks, 117Avenue (talk) 01:04, 22 June 2013 (UTC)

Not done - As announced at the top of the page, this Requests for Undeletion process is only for articles that were deleted uncontroversially, and does not apply to articles deleted after a deletion discussion. However, if you believe that the outcome of the discussion did not reflect the consensus of the participants, or that significant new information has come to light since the article was deleted, you may contact the administrator who closed the discussion, user Ryan Postlethwaite (talk · contribs).   Not done. That may be, but see Wikipedia is not here to tell the world about your noble cause. What you wrote did not give the references to significant coverage in reliable, independent secondary sources necessary to establish WP:Notability, and it was written as an announcement from the company ("Please express your interest by contacting us... ") in extremely promotional terms: "professionals with dedication, determination, discipline and perseverance... applying creative and innovative concepts to develop solutions... " That is not an encyclopedia article, it is an advertisement. JohnCD (talk) 11:20, 23 June 2013 (UTC)

Editor believed the page was created by a representative of the company itself. This is not the case and the page was in fact edited by several different authors including myself, none of which are representatives of the company. Being written by someone with a COI is not directly a reason for deletion, but it means that the evidence of significant coverage in reliable, independent secondary sources required for WP:Notability is checked carefully, and that is what was lacking. The only changes made the day before deletion were tidying up by a "bot" and would not have affected the outcome. JohnCD (talk) 11:32, 23 June 2013 (UTC)

New York Fashion Shows

I don't think that the article should have been deleted due to the faults it was accused of. It was not promoting anything nor was there no indication of importance. I was trying to research the company and looked to Wikipedia as a source. The program bounced me out of the page while I was still reading which I thought was very annoying. The Wiki page was informative and to me, didn't try to promote or sell anything, there was just information on the company itself. I did not see anything about a person nor organization on their page. -Tchris8d (talk) 01:25, 25 June 2013 (UTC)

Not done and will not be done The entire article is about an organization. Crap language like, "The company’s Live Fashion Shows incorporate the Fashion Week Experience through a high impact presentation, spectacular runway, musical direction, and upscale designs" has no place in an encyclopedia, even if the illiterate and irregular capitalization were to be fixed. --Orange Mike | Talk 01:37, 25 June 2013 (UTC)

User talk:Darkness Shines/Pogroms

For History merge with Talk:Anti-Muslim violence in India. User:Darkness Shines copy pasted the content of the talk for avoiding the word "Pogroms". This can be a fair argument for the article since it contains only his inputs but this is no reason to copy paste the content of the talk page. -The Legend of Zorro 17:33, 24 June 2013 (UTC)
