clear up about confusion between types of house

edit

What is the diference between progressive house and electro house? Please provide a link to a popular song from both on youtube. Also, what's the diference between funky house and disco house? do the same for that too, i need to clear up this confusion, there's so many types of house, and it can get confusing when i hear about more and more types of house. I remember back in the 90s it was just like 3 types of house, now, in 2010, it is now a whole jumble of subgenres of house. please clear up the types i mentioned with youtube links. -- Anonymous, 00:22, 17 October 2010 (UTC)

Honestly, the differences between musical genres are very fuzzy around the edges, and when one gets to micro-managing the genres, such as identifying precisely the difference between funky house and disco house, is pretty pointless. It's funky house if it is a) House music which contains b) elements of funk music, while it is disco house if it is a) House music which contains b) elements of disco music. Funk and disco were not entirely mutually exclusive styles either, there were artists who clearly straddled the line between them. The sort of pigeonholing of artists or songs into increasingly smaller and more nuanced categories becomes impossible after a while. --Jayron32 00:31, 17 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Can you identify what types of house these videos are? www.youtube.com/watch?v=90vMpv5Xfes www.youtube.com/watch?v=cklQiNR-Uro www.youtube.com/watch?v=9SKdzvbp0FE www.youtube.com/watch?v=RWkL34iyv9Y That would help me quite a bit. -- Anonymous, 00:55, 17 October 2010 (UTC)

Happy house, handbag house, happy handbag house, hardbag house, town house, country house, house house, french house, french town house, charnel house, mansion house, the house that jack built, Bauhaus, slaughterhouse*, soggy house, all back to my house, animal house, Huf house, randy house, Hugh Laurie's House, Mouse in the house, Adam House, Hatfield House, the White House, the green house, Hunterwasser House and so on... • 1 to 5 obviously
  • Google for 'Ishkur's guide'. It provides a good overview of the major electronic music genres. In very, very general terms: progressive house is somewhat closer to the structure of trance inasmuch as it 'progresses' through a series of phrases to hit the peak of the song. Electro house is more 'electronic' sounding house with more lo-fi sounds, like electro. → ROUX  02:54, 20 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Smallville the Movie?

edit

Are they planning to make Smallville into the new Superman movie franchise? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.91.128.161 (talk) 03:18, 17 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Can't find a reference right now, but from what I've seen around previously, probably not. I think Zac Snyder's going to go for a complete reboot. Rojomoke (talk) 13:54, 17 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Although it doesn't explicitly mention Smallville, this makes the "complete reboot" point. http://splashpage.mtv.com/2010/10/15/zack-snyders-superman-will-not-be-based-on-previous-films-or-comic-books/ Rojomoke (talk) 12:12, 18 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

What was this movie?

edit

Some years ago I remember seeing a movie where a woman used a blond wig to mask her dark hair, and lived in a room hidden behind a brick wall panel. This was apparently because she was a suspect in a crime. What was the name of this movie? 98.116.90.160 (talk) 04:52, 17 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

V for Vendetta maybe? Dismas|(talk) 13:21, 17 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

catherine thompson?

edit

Can someone give me more credits for catherine thompson, other then her possible roles on biz kids? I tried looking her up myself but it talks about a diferent catherine thompson, not the voice actor. For the biz kids question, please answer it too, that will clear this one up too, need answer asap. thanks. Next airing of biz kid$ is on sunday (today) at 12:30 pm eastern time, 9:30 paciffic time on ksps (pbs spokane). In the credits, look for the voice behind capitalist peg and the biz quiz person to see who i mean. Without the name of this person, my research is ruined. 204.112.104.172 (talk) 08:58, 17 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, but googling "Catherine Thompson" "biz kids" doesn't turn up anything useful. I'm not in the US, so I can't watch the show as you suggest. I understand why you can't yourself, but is there no one there who can do so for you? Rojomoke (talk) 12:47, 17 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Like i said, i would ask my friend but, he tends to mess around, and by that i mean tell too many jokes, so not really no. You can get pbs spokane in canada if you live between bc and ontario i believe. it's on in just over a half-hour, and my friend is gone out of town. 204.112.104.172 (talk) 15:49, 17 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Somewhat related... Sympathy for the Devil originally was to have the lyric "I shouted out 'Who killed Jack Kennedy?'" (our article and some sources just have "I shouted out 'Who killed Kennedy?'"), but Robert Kennedy was killed during the recording and the lyrics were changed to "I shouted out 'Who killed the Kennedys?'" more or less on the fly. 1960's or 70's Canadian movie

edit

In it, this mute woman named 'Eve' was forced to live with this woodsman named 'Jonathan'. Latter, she fell in love with him. What movie was this? GoodDay (talk) 23:31, 17 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The Trap? Oliver Reed plays a character named Jean La Bête, but otherwise it fits your description exactly. ---Sluzzelin talk 23:50, 17 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
