Hi there old friend. I was wondering if you could give your input on this. I know it's not exactly your type of music, but you have given great feedback on previous debates surrounding the very same band. So, if you happen to find the time, and of course you feel like it, i would greatly appreciate it. ~ twsx | talkcont | ~ 20:19, 16 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hey! :) Thanks for your message, I left a couple comments on the page. Thanks for the initiative, I'm sure the article's stability will benefit from it. By the way, how have you been? It's been a while! Cheers, Zouavman Le Zouave 20:22, 16 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Jbw / Jbw2 edit

Hi Zouavman Le Zouave. You posted a message to the Administrator's Noticeboard ([1]) about Jbw2 (talk · contribs), who you stated was a copyright violator, and who had lied to the administrators about his contributions. Jbw2 is Jean-Baptiste Waldner, a fact which I have confirmed via email. I have therefore restored his articles and image contributions.

Waldner owns the copyright to his work, and is entitled to release the work to en.Wikipedia. If fr:Utilisateur:Jbw is the same person, then he may also be entitled to release this work onto fr.Wikipedia. Neıl 12:52, 20 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the info. Since I am not an experienced user in the field of copyright and republishing on Wikipedia, I have informed the other administrators of fr.wp, who, I am sure, will do what is best. Thanks again! Regards, Zouavman Le Zouave 14:29, 20 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
Dear Zouavman Le Zouave, I've been informed by Neil about the the current debate. Could you please publish a brief post on your admin notice board, following the topic "Possible copyright violation" - see [2]? It would be very kind, else, some doubt about my integrity could still subist. Thanks in advance --Jbw2 (talk) 08:14, 21 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
Hi, thank you for your message. I would be very glad to make a conclusion message on the administrator noticeboard as soon as possible. However, I think there are still a couple of elements to sort out, for I have been informed that the contents used in some of the articles, at least on the French speaking Wikipedia, have also been copied from le Quid and le Figaro. Maybe you could leave a little message on the French speaking administrator's noticeboard, making it clear where your creations where taken from. A section of the Bulletin des Administrateurs has been made for the issue, and can be found here. Thanks in advance for your input. Zouavman Le Zouave 15:06, 21 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
Hello Zouavman, thanks for your patience. sorry for jaming your page here, but that's the only way to answer to your above post. I will provide you with a more detailed comment on your page as soon as I will be able to. But just agree how unfair some unjustified comments were ("insérer des images référencées de son livre dans wikipédia insertion que l'on peut qualifier de spam... demande de suppression soit faite sur commons. Il y a si peu de chances qu'il les ai réalisées lui même... ). I've discussed the previous spam assertion sunday with my agent who raised the libel suit suggestion. I agree it was a gut reaction a little extreme, but I cannot accept that kind of unfounded criticisms without any reaction, in particular when they harm not only to my own reputation but also well-famed publisher like Dunod, Hermes or Wiley for instance ! Moreover, some references to my books have been doneon wiki french before my first contribution, i.e. by other contributors. You do not ignore that an administrator role is not only a right, but also a duty with strong values. And presumption of innocence is one of the first of them. Thanks for the dialg, you are clearly one of the most mature and conscientious admin of thefrench board and i really appreciate the discussion--Jbw2 (talk) 13:45, 23 June 2008 (UTC)

Request for removing my full name edit

Dear Zouavman, I would like to ask to to remove the full name you mentioned here[3]. I'm not exactely a fan of egosurfing and so prefer not disclose my identity (just replace my full name with my pseudo or simply "he"). Thanks in advance. Looking forward to providing you with all the above discussed evidence. I will also definitively stop my contribution to the french project, considering the very unfair and peremptory attitude of gemini1980. However, I've appreciate your dispassionate and more objective attitude. Best Reagards--Jbw2 (talk) 12:53, 25 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Request to move article Punk Pathetique incomplete edit

You recently filed a request at Wikipedia:Requested moves to move the page Punk Pathetique to a different title - however your proposal is either incomplete or has been contested as being controversial. As a result, it has been moved to the incomplete and contested proposals section. Requests that remain incomplete after five days will be removed.

Please make sure you have completed all three of the following:

  1. Added {{move|NewName}} at the top of the talk page of the page you want moved, replacing "NewName" with the new name for the article. This creates the required template for you there.
  2. Added {{subst:RMtalk|NewName|reason for move}} to the bottom of the talk page of the page you want to be moved, to automatically create a discussion section there.
  3. Added {{subst:RMlink|PageName|NewName|reason for move}} to the top of today's section here.

If you need any further guidance, please leave a message at Wikipedia talk:Requested moves or contact me on my talk page. - JPG-GR (talk) 00:08, 6 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Image copyright problem with Image:KyoKyo2000.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:KyoKyo2000.jpg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

This is an automated notice by FairuseBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. --FairuseBot (talk) 07:25, 18 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Your sub-page, monobook.js edit

Your sub-page, monobook. js, appears as a WikiProject Biography page without a listas parameter. One of the things that are not allowed for a user's page or sub-page is any coding that would put the page into a category. Would you do whatever needs to be done to remove this subpage from WP Biog and from the Biog pages without a listas parameter?

Thank you!

System of a Down edit

Please do not make edits based on your own POV. The genres given in the infobox are the best-sourced. (Ibaranoff24 (talk) 10:15, 2 April 2009 (UTC))Reply

This has yet to be discussed. I have only returned the infobox to its state as decided per consensus. While consensus can change, no consensus has currently been found. Logically, we should not edit the infobox until consensus is found. I am open to discussion, but no changes should be done without a new consensus. If you modify the infobox genres against consensus, rather than participating in discussion, I will contact a user with administrative rights on this wiki for appropriate response to a violation of the policies. Regards, Zouavman Le Zouave 10:48, 2 April 2009 (UTC)Reply
Rather than repeatedly reverting to the disputed version of the article, why not discuss the edits you make? (Ibaranoff24 (talk) 10:54, 2 April 2009 (UTC))Reply
I would advise against making personal attacks. (Ibaranoff24 (talk) 13:43, 2 April 2009 (UTC))Reply
I've told you about this twice now: whether or not you agree with my opinions, there is no rational reason to treat another editor as being of lower intelligence. (Ibaranoff24 (talk) 11:47, 3 April 2009 (UTC))Reply
Again, why make a statement regarding consensus when it is not true? The archives list page after page of valid argument against the genre's inclusion, paired with very poor argument in favor of the genre's inclusion. (Ibaranoff24 (talk) 14:41, 3 April 2009 (UTC))Reply
Your latest accusation of bias is incorrect. The fact is that I am more consistent in my addition of sources than you make me out to be. I have often chosen not to include sources citing the band as progressive metal because I feel that they may not be reliable for a music biography (such as this review). I don't indiscriminantly set out to add any source I come across to add a genre based on my own opinion. (Ibaranoff24 (talk) 03:39, 5 April 2009 (UTC))Reply
  • Your latest list is inaccurate. None of the statements you make reflect the facts and completely ignore your twisting of statements to reflect your own opinion, as well as directly lying in order to claim that I am doing what you, in fact, are doing. Take for example the fact that multiple sources you added do not directly refer to the band as nu metal, whereas all of the sources for progressive metal refer to the band as such, in direct contradiction to your claim that they do not. This is an extreme display of obvious bias on your part. (Ibaranoff24 (talk) 14:10, 8 April 2009 (UTC))Reply

This is just to let you know that a user has brought up your actions on a WP:AN thread hereThe Seeker 4 Talk 14:31, 8 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Why is your argument still about the inclusion of progressive metal? What does that have to do with anything? Why are you still clinging on this? I thought we had come to an agreement over that. I thought I had repeatedly told you that I never pushed for the genre's inclusion. Your claims don't change the fact that you won't acknowledge the obvious fact that you started an attack page against me. (Ibaranoff24 (talk) 21:01, 28 April 2009 (UTC))Reply

As I previously said, the page is not an attack page against you. It's a page displaying specific edits that you have made, along with comments on the edits and not on the contributor. As for my arguing against progressive metal, it was simply to show you that you are inconsistent in your use of the word "consistent". If you think eight sources is "inconsistently sourced", then logically, less sources should be also. Zouavman Le Zouave 00:43, 29 April 2009 (UTC)Reply
I've repeatedly stated that it's not the number of sources. It's the consistency of the statements. (Ibaranoff24 (talk) 12:56, 29 April 2009 (UTC))Reply
Sorry for bringing back the progressive metal claim once again, but I don't quite see much consistency in your statements on the matter. Progressive metal has by far the most inconsistent sources, with vague or ambiguous terms used in different articles (e.g. neo-prog, prog-thrash). How can you genuinely claim that progressive metal was more consistently sourced than the nu metal claim? Zouavman Le Zouave 08:59, 30 April 2009 (UTC)Reply
Listen, I know that you must have put a lot of effort into the article, but I'm not trying to step on any authority you think you may have. I'm just trying to get the article into shape and to have the text correspond with what is sourced. You could actually help by getting a copy of the biography (Right Here in Hollywood by Ben Myers) and rewriting the history section with content from the book. (Ibaranoff24 (talk) 21:15, 1 May 2009 (UTC))Reply
I do not have any more authority than any other user on this wiki. My work on this article has been essentially on keeping a neutral and verifiable position on the genres, and my time being more and more scarce, I don't have the resources to edit the article in any other aspect for the moment. If we have to correspond it to what is sourced, nu metal would be first on the list. Countless sources have been given, and I don't see why some persist to silence the mentioning of the genre in the infobox while other, less well sourced genres are included. Speedy deletion of Karaboudjan (band) edit

Hello Zouavman Le Zouave, this is a message from an automated bot to inform you that the page you created on January 27 2007, Karaboudjan (band), has been marked for speedy deletion by User:89.139.218.145 (page has mainspace links, and more than 49 edits). This has been done because the page seems to be about a person, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant (see CSD). SOAD Talk Page July 2007 edit

Hey. I, being a relatively undedicated wikipedia user, browsed through my history for the first time today and came across a post I made in a discussion entitled "Progressive Metal?" on the System of a Down talk page in July 2007. I was extremely disrespectful and insulting when I responded to one of your posts and I wish to apologize. It was completely undeserving and unprovoked from your part and I acted as a frustrated teenager, which I was. So, once again, sorry. Revan (talk) 21:51, 28 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hey!
Not a problem, I'm pretty sure everyone got carried away at some point or another during those debates. :) I remember raging myself during a lot of discussions, and I now chuckle at those genre battles I used to take so seriously. As I don't recall every chronological detail of those heated talks, I wish to apologize myself if I've caused offense in any way. I'm hardly active on Wikipedia anymore, but I'm still an avid reader, and finding this message made my day. I hope your wiki experience was pleasurable since 2007, and I hope there's more to come! Enjoy. Zouavman Le Zouave 16:19, 30 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Sonnenheim edit

The article Sonnenheim has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
