  • Always sign your posts on talk pages. You can do this either by clicking on the   button on the edit toolbar or by typing four tildes ~~~~ at the end of your post. This will automatically insert your signature, a link to your talk page, and a timestamp.
  • Leave descriptive edit summaries for your edits. Doing so helps other editors understand what changes you have made and why you made them.

Help me! edit

contributing a living persons biography

Please help me with...i am finding it difficult to open a football biography page after opening a sandbox but i am not able to save the draft or use the template. Please guide me through the process from A to Z.

You'll have to be a bit more specific. CHRISSYMAD ❯❯❯¯\_(ツ)_/¯ 19:20, 13 September 2018 (UTC)Reply
(edit conflict) You'll want to make sure that the person meets Wikipedia's standards of notability, that is, that he or she has received significant coverage in reliable third-party sources such as newspapers or reputable magazines reporting on him or her in some detail. If that's the case, you can use the Article Wizard to write a draft that neutrally summarizes what those sources report about the person, without embellishment. You should cite the sources so our readers can verify that the summary is accurate (that's particularly important for living persons where there might be issues of libel or of promotion). When you're done, you can use the "Submit the draft for a review" button in the messagebox at the top to submit the draft for a review by an experienced editor who will either turn it into a live article or provide feedback on why it falls short. For a general introduction to how Wikipedia works, you may want to check out the tutorial or, for a more playful approach, The Wikipedia Adventure. Help:Editing may also be of interest.
As I said above, the first step is finding reliable sources such as newspapers or sports magazines that report on the person in some detail. You have created a draft at User:WikiSiji/sandbox/Akinsiku; you can edit that page via the "edit" tab at the top of the page and summarize (in your own words, to avoid copyright issues) what the sources report about the subject. See WP:Referencing for beginners on how to easily create nicely-formatted footnotes. Once the daft is written and saved (again, see Help:Editing), you can submit it for a review by an experienced editor via the "Submit your draft for review!" button in the messagebox at the top. Speedy deletion nomination of Alex Akinyemi Victor edit

Hello WikiSiji,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Alex Akinyemi Victor for deletion, because it seems to be inappropriate for a variety of reasons. For more details please see the notice on the article.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.

Your draft article, User:WikiSiji/sandbox/Akinsiku edit

Hello, WikiSiji. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "sandbox/Akinsiku".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thank you for your submission to Wikipedia! —pythoncoder (talk | contribs) 20:42, 4 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
