Eudokia Porphyrogenita moved to draftspace

edit

An article you recently created, Eudokia Porphyrogenita, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. February 2022

With regard to your recent addition to the Sloughi article: where in the source that you added does it say that the Sloughi "has existed in the Middle East"? M.Bitton (talk) 17:34, 27 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

Indeed, I mistakenly read the source to read Sloughi/Saluki of the the Middle East, when in fact it was referring exclusively to the Saluki.
Hence it was a mistake, and a good faith edit. Wase134 (talk) 17:39, 27 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
Fair enough. You also added "Egypt" to the list of countries where it's found (based on the same source I believe). Could you please remove it? Thanks. M.Bitton (talk) 17:50, 27 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

I thought the Sloughi originated in Syria and Egypt and was brought to the Maghreb during late antiquity? I’m not sure though I can remove it otherwise… Wase134 (talk) 18:00, 27 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on Rollo (redirect) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. Ways to improve Mohammed bin Said

edit

Hello, Wase134,

Thank you for creating Mohammed bin Said.

I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:

This article needs more references. What is needed are references from significant coverage about the topic of the article, and independent of it, in multiple secondary sources which are WP:RS; that is your guide. You may also read WP:PRIMARY which details the limited permitted usage of primary sources. A more comprehensive guide is WP:SOURCES ... Providing sufficient references, ideally one per fact referred to, that meet these tough criteria is likely to allow this article to remain. Lack of them or an inability to find them is likely to mean that the topic is not suitable for inclusion. Kindly do the needful. Thank you.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Whiteguru}}. Remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. For broader editing help, please visit the Teahouse.

Delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.

‘Playing games’

edit

I am curious as to why you think an editor is ‘playing games’. It is an odd expression. My edits are always good faith. Are you alright? Wase134 (talk) 08:16, 26 March 2022 (UTC)

Yes I'm fine, some of the recent edits you have made known to me are simply trivial, incorrect and without foundation - as others have informed you on your talk page. Richard Hawkins (talk) 19:32, 26 March 2022 (UTC) Fair enough - I’m sorry. Like everyone else I’m prone to making mistakes. Wase134 (talk) 22:20, 26 March 2022 (UTC)

You are making far too many Richard Hawkins (talk) 15:16, 27 March 2022 (UTC)

Your recent edits such as adding Ukraine as a C00 of the Borzoi, and removing the archaelogical reference in the IW page, motivated as "clear link" can only be termed as meddling/vandalism, please desist from playing such games.--Richard Hawkins (talk) 12:52, 1 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

Removing the citation was an accident - not vandalism. The repetition of undoing edits with an air of hostility and terming them as ‘playing games’ is more reflective of you at this point. Can we be civil? As for Borzoi, it could be described as Ukrainian as well as Russian but its not a big deal. I hope we can ‘finish the game’ now… Regards, Wase. May 2022

edit

Hi Wase134! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia – it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information. Thank you. DrKay (talk) 11:14, 6 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

You are still misusing the minor edit tag. Please note that edits like this are not minor edits. Minor edit only refers to superficial edits like typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. DrKay (talk) 06:47, 30 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

Irish Wolfhound

edit

Hi! What purpose do you think is served by edit-warring at Irish Wolfhound‎? You've twice linked a major geographical feature, which we don't do per MOS:OL, and what's more linked it wrong – the Irish Wolfhound‎ was created in the island of Ireland, which at that time was part of the United Kingdom (but it'd probably be contentious to put that in the infobox). May I suggest that you undo your mistaken edit? Thank you, Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 08:26, 27 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hello, The modern breed was actually developed in Gloucestershire, England (contentious for sure), but I believe one refers to the ancient breed for an origin in Ireland/Republic of Ireland. Therefore the old breed has nothing to do with the United Kingdom or northern Ireland. Wase134 (talk) 09:48, 27 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

However, as per manual of style/linking, I will remove the double link. Wase134 (talk) 09:53, 27 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

Your recent edit on the IW is another attempt to meddle with text to suit your own opinion, please desist from rewriting text taken from the breed standard descriptions.--Richard Hawkins (talk) 22:05, 29 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
